I expect people to appreciate others enough to dress and behave in an decent manner. Doesn't need to be fancy.

but who defines decent? Decent to some is much different than decent to others. So it is an arbitrary label of the acceptable standard based on the opinions of the most influential of the masses in that locale. Which I am sure is an excellent scale for people who are represented by the masses. Not so great for the outliers. And the masses' definition of this perceived acceptable standard changes every few years. It is why heavy women are a lot less likely to be hired and earn much less than thin peers. It is why neurodivergent people have a more difficult time gaining and staying employed. Plus, I find the expectation of meeting the standard mass definition of acceptable decency causes the outliers to try to blend, but I prefer the outliers, so they become harder for me to find them.

With me, my taste have always been simple. Practice good hygiene, wear clean clothes. I believe looking good for others is important, but I tend to hold it in a far less formal sense

I've been having problems with my meds, so my brother felt that she should go with me to keep an eye on me. I'm not offended by the idea, but both people lied to me, and I'm not about to share Paradise with someone who lies to me. Not angry, she's a sweet girl, but it was a big line to cross

I’m ALL about good hygiene…like if you smell funky or dont brush or shower regularly or have stinky feet … hard limit.
