January 6th Prosecution vs. Trump - Loving Updates

If 'Pubs had gotten more votes by mail, you'd see a huge push to widen voting by mail.
It's always good to point out that Trump voted by mail himself--and that Mark Meadows tried to do so in more than one state.
Off with her head!

Yep. His redemption book tour didn’t go over so well. Same with Bolton.

He resigned before 6 January, now claiming that it was because he wouldn't be part of the coup, although at the time he gushed about how great Trump was. How might history be changed if he either, as Attorney General, publicly called out preparations for a coup and opened an investigation, or, at least, publicly said Trump was crazy and preparing a coup as he resigned. He (as with Bolton) is not a loyal American. He IS part of the coup. He didn't call it out.

Don’t forget Merrick Garland. He’s in on it too. Lol

For most of American history, laws have prevented alcohol from being sold on Election Day. If only that were still true, then we might have had a peaceful transfer of power.

The letter, released by the top Republican on the Committee of House Administration on Tuesday, appears to clear Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) of claims that he led reconnaissance tours of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 5, 2021.

U.S. Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger said that he found “no evidence” that Loudermilk entered the Capitol with his constituents on that day. He found that he had 12 visitors to the Raymond Building, which later grew to 15.
so loudermilk did have a largish group, many of whom wore red baseball caps, but they didn't enter the Capitol Building. While the letter clears his name of leading them through tunnels, etc..., (which is good) it doesn't mention what was being spoken about in his office for approximately 2 hours. Maybe nothing suspicious at all, or maybe information was passed onto them we'll never know about. They probably just spent most the time kissing his arse and telling him how great trump was.

I did notice that Cheney pushed back on there not being any referrals to the DOJ today
makes me wonder if Bennie Thompson's had a private heads up from Garland; the political optics ARE better if the DOJ announces indictments as a stand alone... the largely dem makeup (mccarthy's fault) of the committee will always be used as a political bludgeon in pro-trump campaigns and even worsen Liz Cheney's chances in the mid terms. It's either that or he (Thompson) is so convinced that the wealth of evidence against trump and his cronies shouts from the rooftops that the general public cannot help but draw the logical conclusions and Merrick will do what's right.

I think they should just admit there will probably be referrals and let the DoJ make a statement on pursuit. Separation of duties means that all the committee should do is collect evidence and pass it along if there is even the thought of criminal offences.

I think Thompson should've just given the no comment line instead of saying something.

I also think that happens too often on the left....they should absolutely have a training session for their entire membership to just know when to stfu....but just my two cents. Half the time they just add comments for no reason.

For most of American History alcohol and politics were very intertwined - it wasn't until the Progressive Temperance Movement that alcohol was restricted.

When the socialist began their war on alcohol, through the Temperance Movement fighting for the 18th Amendment was when the call for banning alcohol on Election Day started. Since in the beginning of our republic, the average person drank 7.1 gallons of pure alcohol a year and was widely used especially at political events and meetings.

I really don't see the point.
The results of the hearing was announced BEFORE they started it.
The only two people other than Democrats on the committee are Rhino's.

Somebody spent a crap load of man hours and money crafting a hit piece to make sure Trump doesn't run again.
I never did think once out of office he could get elected again.

Although Brandon...Sorry,I mean Biden certainly seems to be trying to get him elected!

Beating a dead horse is just a dumb move. And it will cost them dearly.

The point, beyond how much angst having your hero called out like this :), is that McCarthy really screwed up by not putting some quarter-way reasonable Republicans not obvious to be rejected on the panel to do the usual Republican shuffle with the panel's work. :)

It’s a House panel, not a Senate panel. House minority leader McCarthy designated minority panel members, Speaker Pelosi rejected them, and so Democrats are excited and the rest of the country is focused on more important things.

You have many posts about the traitorous insurrection, so you must not be one of the people with more important things to do.

She didn't reject them all. She rejected a couple and the McCarthy rescinded them all.

Nah. A few posts in 2020-21 about the BLM summer insurrections, the SCOTUS insurrections, and the Capitol insurrection. But not many. A few recent posts about the futility of Democrat efforts to make hay out of yesterday’s news.
