Chicago is in a blue state. Chicago also has a very high crime rate, because it has a high black population. Any criticism of blacks is considered to be racist. I vote Democrat, but I dislike changes the Democrat Party made since 1963. I agree with the GOP on the issues of race and crime. Those are the strongest GOP issues. They are the reasons the Republican Party can stop needed Democrat reforms on global warming and gun control. I supported the civil rights movement during the 1960's and early 1970's. Now I see it as a well intended mistake.

I am liberal on economic and environmental issues. I am conservative on many social issues. I do not think the problem is that some homosexuals want to get married to each other. I think the problem is that many heterosexuals do not want to marry the people with whom they have children, and raise those children properly. This is particularly a problem with blacks, because most black men would rather be "a sex machine with all the chicks" than a responsible husband and father.

I am in favor of free abortion on demand at any stage of pregnancy. I do not care about "a woman's right to choose." I like the eugenic effects of legal abortion. Women who are most likely to have abortions are least likely to have intrinsic qualities that are worth preserving in the next generation.

I am pessimistic about human nature, agreeing with E.O. Wilson's Sociobiology, the New Synthesis. I am pessimistic about human potential, agreeing with The Bell Curve, by Richard Herrnstein and Charles Murray.

To the extent I am a conservative, mine is a conservatism that is without concern for the economic well being of rich people. That is why I continue to vote Democrat, despite all the woke nonsense about diversity, inclusion, and equity. I oppose anything that smells even vaguely of affirmative action, even affirmative action for my race. That is why I am not a white nationalist. I favor a criminal justice system that is several times harsher than anything currently being discussed. I think Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) should be restricted to widows, deserted wives, and their legitimate children.

While the Wuhan Flu worked out for the "progressives" in 2020, in the long term it pulled back the curtain on activities that were flying under the radar and a sleeping giant has been awoken. Let's do a little recap here of subsequent events.

Starting with the San Francisco School Board recall elections. Three "progressives" lost their seats in that election and the only reason it was just three is that is all that the law allowed to be recalled. But it didn't end there. The Mayor gets to appoint the replacements. So he was handed a list by the recall organizers who told him "these are the replacements." The Mayor reminded them that "He" gets to name the names. They politely reminded him that they were prepared to have as many recall elections as it took. The names on their list are now sitting on the board.

Locally four School Board members were replaced. Only one of the four were endorsed by the Union, Mayor, and Governor.

Similar little parent rebellions are playing out nationwide with the VA elections being the most prominent.

Recently we can take a look at recent movie releases. Top Gun 2, far from a "woke" theatrical presentation, is tracking to net $300 million plus. All the other "woke" releases have turned out to be tax write offs. In the same vein, how's that Netflix and Disney stock doing? The term "Get woke, go broke" is starting to have real meaning.

Lastly, 2022 isn't shaping up well for the democrats. As a matter of fact, without some sort of miracle it's shaping up to be a blood bath.

You don't get it. In cultural terms, every inch our society moves leftward is an irreversible inch. The sexual revolution will never be undone. The gains of the black civil rights movement will never be undone. The gains of second-wave feminism of the 1970s will never be undone. Same-sex marriage will never again be illegal. Whatever gains transgenders make in the present period will be permanent.

And, it does not work the other way. Sometimes the RW makes gains, but they don't last. The controversies over school prayer and teaching creationism in school have faded away even as controversies -- outside certain cultural enclaves, anyone will look at you like you're crazy if you even bring up such things as currently relevant things.

You might be getting some optimism from the impending reversal of Roe v. Wade, but that only illustrates my point: All gains of the "pro-life" movement are based on political or judicial maneuvering, not on increased public support. Support for the "pro-life" side slowly diminishes year after year after year, and not even you can possibly believe that will ever reverse itself.

The same applies to gun rights. Public support for 2A absolutism diminishes year after year after year. In the long run, not even red states will remain unaffected by that. There will be no American "gun culture" 100 years from now. There will be no "gun culture" 50 years from now. Only a Mad Max scenario can change that.

Even Christianity is dying out in America. Millennials have a larger percentage of self-ID'd atheists and agnostics -- around 25% -- than any elder generation, and of the rest a great many are "uncommitted" or "spiritual but not religious." There will never come a Third Great Awakening. No statistically significant number of these kids are going to find Jesus as they get older.
