Georgia Breaks Records Using Law Media Decried as Voter Suppression

President Biden called it “Jim Crow on steroids,” Major League Baseball pulled the All-Star Game out of Atlanta over it, and the media provided cover for all such rhetoric. And yet, Georgia’s new election law has not suppressed the vote. In fact, the opposite has happened as Georgia has seen record breaking early turnout in the lead up to Tuesday’s primary.

On MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports on Friday, guest host Garrett Haake observed, “Today marks the last day of what has been a record breaking period of early voting in Georgia.”

Later, correspondent Blayne Alexander gave more context, “Let’s look at those numbers. More than 655,000 people have gone in person to cast a ballot. That's a record breaking number and every day in this three-week period we have seen record breaking numbers. In fact, they have far eclipsed the numbers from 2018 and 2020 in some cases, more than about 150%. Now, since what we saw -- you remember back in June of 2020, that disastrous primary here in Georgia. Since then, we’ve really seen the message of early voting being repeatedly pushed and certainly, these numbers show people are listening.”

While it was good that the Haake and Alexander provided this news, they did not offer any apology or correction for all the lies that were spread about Georgia’s law and as Georgia votes here are some reminders of what was said about the law.

The left is so full of shit.

It’s ironic that those who referred to Georgia’s election reform law as a “Jim Crow law” are eating crow.

We'll see when the final vote is tallied where it ends up..and specifically what happens on election day.

And then if the vote doesnt go their way, those same people will point to the record numbers as evidence of fraud. Just wait for it.

Georgias ability to rally people to the polls and even wait hours upon hours has been impressive the last several year.

Nobody is talking about who is going to win. We're talking about turnout during a voting system that Democrat Biden referred to as "Jim Crow on steroids" that would keep black people from voting.

By the way, where is Butters? Isn't she the one who clutched her pearls so hard on this issue she popped her nipples and choked herself unconscious? Or was that Nowisn'tthetime? :D

I'm not talking about who will win. I'm talking about the final count....i.e. the final number of voters.

And we'll also see on election day how long people will be in line to vote.

Yep, on almost every subject.

It’s just the GOP primary. Blacks voting or not is a tiny concern.

You forgot that MSBC is fake news and therefore the entire thread, much like you and the OP, is soft and weak.
MSNBC is not the only outlet reporting it, and the primary source is the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.

“More than 700,000 people voted early, the Georgia Secretary of State's Office said on Friday. The recent surge shatters the 2020 early voting total of 263,308 and surpasses the 234,035 early voters in 2018. That is a 149% and a 180% increase respectively.”

So we’re clear, are you predicting lower voter turnout this November than the last midterms in 2018?

Are republicans more upset that someone allegedly lied or that Georgians turned out to vote!?

We're not clear, I haven't predicted anything. I'm just saying that this is a primary and until elections have concluded, you don't truly know how many voters you have.

And I've said it's great to see a good turnout.

The level of voter turnout is a product of public engagement. Apparently a record number of voters in Georgia care who wins the primaries.

Dude. It's a Saturday.

Unlike you, they actually have lives and significant other people in them to have fun with.

Not everyone lives inside this place from morning to beddy-bye looking under rocks to find things to kvetch over the way you do. :D

Yes, and it's just what you can expect to happen in response to what could only be called a naked effort to curtail Democratic turnout. If there's one way to get Americans of any political stripe to get off the couch and do something, it's to try to prevent them from doing it.

We could use a little more successful and effective voter suppression.
A little honesty wouldn't hurt either...

And a little less conspiracy theory from the Left.

That’s all the left does is post conspiracy theories and stuff about Trump. I’ll bet they find some way to turn this about Trump because they can’t stop talking about Trump.

Putin! Putin Putin!

You can bet he's working on some MAGA fraud right now; proof provided by Hillary, Inc.

Not only is it a public discussion board, but you also trolled my threads already this morning.

Hypocritical projection is your only game.
