Some of us posted our stories early, but the Admins are holding them as pending until the 18th.

So, you should have until the 25th to post a story.

I like the title! Don't know if I'll get round to reading much though.

I'm having a chapter a day being posted, which would be fine if Ch.1 didn't say the whole story is available. Oh well, it'll become true soon enough. A few clickthroughs to my other stories, which is nice.

Last year was the standard 1-day event, which was how these events were created.

Other people started doing posting periods, which is a better idea.

So this year's OnTheJob stories will be spread out. I'm submitting my first story right now.

My story is certainly going down like a cup of cold sick so far. As one commenter put it succinctly, "Four pages of UK crap."

The other complained that she should have been doing X, Y and Z to him. Personally I figure if someone can do anything to you while you've got your face between their legs, you're probably doing it wrong, but we'll see if people like chapter 2 any better. It's got PIV sex, at least.

I think a lot of one-bombers have appeared over the last year. About 9 months ago almost all my stories dropped by about 0.2 and I went from all bar two stories having red Hs to only about two thirds.

I'm just guessing, but maybe people notice that it's only the first chapter of a longer series. Perhaps they prefer a stand-alone story in an event rather than just a single chapter. There is so much randomness involved in the people who read these things and then vote on them that it's very hard to determine what is going on with a particular submission. The last I looked, it was at 4.16 which is a respectable number. On some recent stories, I was sure that I would get better than a 4.00, but it just didn't happen.

I don't mind it. I think it's actually very well written and doesn't deserve the harsh comments it's been garnering.
I really regret not rereading my story and publishing it in the state that I did though, I think I could have done a lot better with the ending and the comments I got were deserved and fair.

Thank you very much! I've now had a bunch of nice comments to balance those out. Often votes are way more about whether you gave the average reader what they expected from the category and title - if it's not man+woman=fuck, some EC readers will object but I could hardly put it anywhere else. Hm, I wonder if readers complain of erotic content in Non-Erotic?

Chapters 2 and 3 seem to be going down better. I predict at least two complaints about chapter 5 though, either too much or not enough kink and same-sex activity or the wrong kind...

Mine was published today and within minutes somebody had one-bombed it. Depressing but not a surprise…

I just read your story and gave it a four.

As Kumquatqueen described the disparaging comment of "UK crap" on their story, I could understand why the commenter said that.

I find reading stories with too many idioms, slang and cultural references difficult to read. (I don't know what "Gurdwara" is, but I assume it's something to do with a Sikh community gathering.) It's as if I need to read slower and re-read sentences to understand before continuing on trying to enjoy a story. And your shift in names of the main character to the insult wasn't clear until about a page later.

But reading both yours (and I need to finish Kumquatqueen's story) was a good exercise. I'll look at my own stories now with an eye toward removing slang and cultural terms, or at least better defining them.
