I'm just curious ... you mention "hate speech" here .. and so since I don't think there is a clear definition of "hate speech" (just like there was never a clear definition of "pornography"in the 70s, and the supreme court left it up to "community standards"), I think it's incumbent upon the person who is identifying "hate speech" to really call out what words are considered "hate speech".

I tend to be a "free speech" advocate, just because we as a society have been down this road before with trying to define what types of "speech" is acceptable, and what type of "speech" will get you thrown in jail. In the 1960s, it was comics who were considered "blue" that got arrested and hauled off stage because of what they said. It seems to me the standards for what will get you "arrested", "cancelled", etc. are a moving target, and I think that is very dangerous, because it sets a precedent that anything you say can be deemed "hate speech" by the government and then they can jail and prosecute you for having an unpopular opinion.

So .. what has been so "hateful" on this thread? Honestly, there's nothing that's been said here that offends me to the point where I'd call it "hate speech". So, I'm curious as to the standards you've applied, and if those standards are codified anywhere?

Personally, I regard the right to insult whomever I please as one of those democratic freedoms that I'd be willing to fight and die for. For the record, hate speech (and I'm just pulling the first thing I find off google) can be defined as follows: abusive or threatening speech or writing that expresses prejudice against a particular group, especially on the basis of race, religion or sexual orientation.

Though I do agree, the onus should be on asshat, over there, to please provide an example of a post in this thread that meets this definition, or one remotely similar to it.
