DeSantis thinks 45's stay at home order at the start of the pandemic was wrong.

I assume he also thinks that getting vaccinated and having proof of vaccination to work in certain public and health industry is also wrong.

Trump was clear about getting his own vaccinations and getting boosted....Trump did all of this and calls those not doing it or doing it and avoiding the questions about it as sniveling cowards.

Interesting turn of events isn't it?

Uh...

Okay.

I don't think that you have much of a point there... Maybe a nit...

Well, no, not clear at the time he got them--and it probably would have saved lives if he'd been clear about that up front. He only revealed having been vaccinated nine months after doing so and he also belatedly declared he'd been boosted.

"And DeSantis blamed the media for talk of any tensions with the former president.

"I think this is what the media does, and you cannot fall for the bait. You know what they’re trying to do. Don’t take the bait, and just kind of keep on keeping on. We need everybody united for a big red wave in 2022," the governor argued."

Yes, Fox is the party of Trump so you are so very correct that this is what the media, some media, will do. Bend facts to suit their narritive.

Did the Governor say what is quoted or didn't he? Prove he didn't.

DeSantis knows better than to speak out against Trump.

Did the Governor say what is quoted or didn't he? Prove he didn't.

"Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said on a podcast episode that aired Friday one of his biggest regrets in office was not speaking “much louder” against the Trump Administration’s calls for lockdowns in the early days of the pandemic, with the comments coming just days after former President Donald Trump appeared to label DeSantis “gutless.”

DeSantis says it in his podcast.... you can hear him say it.

Apparently DeSantis is just trying to distinguish himself from Trump. He has to do that, if both are going to seek the 2024 nomination -- he doesn't want people to think it's only a choice between Trump and Trump-Lite.

Well, certainly DeathSentence needs to avoid running afoul of Trump if he wants a future in the GOP. That doesn't mean the media is wrong, nor does it make it their fault if there is a rift between the two.

A couple of things about this. First, in the same way that it's no coincidence that the closest thing to an anti-Biden major figure among Democrats, Joe Manchin, is on continual speed dial with the producers of the Sunday shows, it's also true that the media are desperate to showcase a major Republican figure willing to take shots at Trump, especially if it's someone who has ambitions of a higher office (which Mitt Romney no longer has). So there's a sense in which this is mostly a media creation.

But: it's also true that I think DeSantis knows what he's doing here. Trump's (very brief) period of being serious about slowing the spread, and his continuing enthusiasm about the benefits of the vaccine, are places where his base has gotten away from him somewhat. And DeSantis can exploit that by claiming now that he was always opposed to any effort to slow the spread (an easier case to make now that we know that it was never going to work, something much harder to predict two years ago), and because he's not personally invested in the vaccine the way Trump was and is. So he's poking the bear a bit and testing TFG's susceptibility to possible campaign arguments, and his willingness to get poked without responding.

But do I think DeSantis would actually seek the 2024 nomination if Trump runs? I tend to doubt it. Any sign of vulnerability for Trump in a run for the nomination would probably be followed by him bowing out voluntarily. His ego will not let him risk a defeat he couldn't explain away to a conservative audience.

DeSantis thinks 45's stay at home order at the start of the pandemic was wrong.

So he's a smidge more liberal than Trump....

I assume he also thinks that getting vaccinated and having proof of vaccination to work in certain public and health industry is also wrong.

Is the assumption totally wild or do you have anything other than your fee fees to base that on??

Either can stand alone, but they will stand together.

I very much doubt we're going to see a Trump-DeSantis ticket in 2024, if that's what you mean. Trump's ego will not allow him to share the stage with anyone who is not a cipher like Pence.
