I don't know why they didn't drive piles to bedrock for those building loads. It's a pretty typical way to do biz in SF.
 
I would not be able to live in that building, I'd be too anxious. Could you?

Jacking up residential foundations is a niche industry where I live; I always wonder why building codes don't require them to be done right the first time. And why lenders don't demand it.

It is here, too. The bad thing is that some of the companies that do the jacking also make promises regarding the future performance, and they probably shouldn't be doing that.

Building codes are minimum standards, always remember that.
