No they were not. I have lived here for 30+ years. Anyone who handed in an illegal gun was paid for it, without any risk of prosecution. I handed 2 in myself but still own three more and am licenced to do so.

If you did not want to hand a gun in, all you had to do was secure it adequately and get a licence. No big deal, took about 10 minutes.

There were of course one or two pig ignorant foreigners like yourself who we threw out of the country.
