Texas Tribune shows the trend towards Blue

We needed another thread dedicated to the same topic?

My, aren't you "special."

In 50 years, yes. But the problem is the damage done until then is irreparable until it does flip. Ain't worth waiting for those incapable of fixing their electrical infrastructure.

Maybe we need a new phrase: " as Texas goes, so goes the nation."

Just a matter of time.

Yeah, any day now Texas will go blue::rolleyes::D

Longtime South Texas Democrat switches to the Republican Party

McALLEN, Texas (Border Report) — A veteran South Texas state representative, who recently sponsored a controversial redistricting amendment that dramatically changed the congressional border districts, has switched to the Republican party.

State Rep. Ryan Guillen, of Rio Grande City, appeared at a news conference with Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday in Floresville, Texas, and announced he will not be running as a Democrat during his next election campaign for Texas House District 31, which includes a large section of the border in Starr County.

His switch comes as South Texas is increasingly being targeted as an area that Republicans feel they can take back in 2022.

Guillen tweeted Monday that his “fiscally conservative, pro-business, and pro-life values are no longer in-step with the Democratic Party.”

Poor Will forgot to check the date of the article he shared. It was published before the 2020 election.

Since then, the GOP has expanded its dominant majority in the state legislature by picking up two more seats in the state house (one flip in a special election this month and one party switch this week.) Democrats failed to flip a single seat in the US House and the GOP easily held the seat in the US Senate. Thanks to redistribution, they are poised to gain seats in Congress next year.

Keep dreaming Dems. 😂😂😂😂😂

I got to the part about "electrical infrastructure" and thought the thread was about California.
Anyway, the infrastructure matter was addressed by the Texas Legislature and we'll see how it works. I'm guessing a repeat is not in the forecast.
California, though, will roll on into advancing shitholedom, with more and more electric cars and less electricity to power them and keep the AC/heat on.

WillJ is desperate to ignore what just happened.

He's going to be in denial overdrive come next year LOL

Short term thinking isn't my thing Bobo Dixie.

Short term has nothing to do with it.

Culture, has everything to do with it, and Texas culture is simply not progressive left, and it's getting less so. The polarization of states is making the states harsh towards the other. Abortion/gun/speech restrictions.... partisan justice. The blue/red state exchange seems to be resulting in MORE polarization, not less, not a deeper purple blending but a separating.

You think all the people leaving California and NY heading to Texas, Idaho and Florida are progressive leftist??

Now how about the people leaving Texas, Florida and the central plains/dirty south states.... you think those are mostly conservatives heading for the left coast and N. England?? LOL...nope. :)

Indications based on real data instead of leftist fee fees, is that Texas has gotten MORE red, substantially so despite the population surge. That's because the millions moving there aren't progressive leftist.

The political polarization across state lines has gotten even more pronounced, not less. The article from last year was comically wrong.

From your link....
Democrats are hoping to flip the Texas House, and as many as 12 congressional seats are being seriously contested.

Why culture? You have none. You don't even realize the guy in your meme is laughing at folks like you.
