and they need to order a new control board. because of 'supply chain issues' they won't be able to repair it till friday week. life sucks.

Sorry to hear that. Stay warm.:rose:

As to the supply chain, my camper has been at the camper dealer most the spring and summer waiting for the new brakes. It's too late. No camping this year!!

A couple good electric shop heaters are worth their weight in gold in your situation.

Get warm soon.

If it’s an older furnace a lot of them used the same boards. If you go to eBay they may have your board for sale.
There is a part number on each board.

And by the way, does the board have a blinking red light?

yep, there's a blinking red light. it's a gas furnace and i'm afraid to mess with anything involving gas hookups. i'll have to wait till they do it.

it once took me a month to get my car out of the shop because of supply and i was homicidal most of the time. i can't imagine having to wait that long without burning down the dealership.

2 hrs ago i dug my electric space heater out of storage. hopefully it will at least warm the bedroom.

The plumber just left my house. A new manifold for the hydronic floor in the master. Now, the closet floor will be toasty. The valve for the walk-in had failed and a new one was not available. So, the manifold was upgraded from mid-90's tech to 2021 tech. From brass to stainless. I'll have to watch the flow meters. Might be cheap entertainment.

If you have a blinking red light and they are telling you the board is bad I would disagree.
What exactly is the furnace doing it isn’t supposed to do or not doing that it should be?

thanks for the offer but i already paid the suckers for the new part and installation. i'm an idiot, i know, but then i usually am. i thought it would fix it faster.

it's really not so bad for me, i just wanted to whine a little bit. when i was in college i spent 2 years living in a squat that didn't have heat and in the intervening years in a number of buildings i was rehabbing that were the same. even when the furnace is working i keep it set on 52 degrees because otherwise i'm too hot. i just wanted to piss and moan to a captive audience.

It is a shame you don't have a fireplace as a backup. Not good being cold

Here in the desert, it's that time of year when I switch over from solar powered evaporative cooling to solar heating. Both are pretty low-tech, with no computer circuitry involved.

With the price of natural gas forecast to go higher, we bought 3 small electric units at Costco — turned the gas furnace off and the 3 little guys keep the house snug and warm. (not to mention that natural gas is a major carbon source adding to the climate warming.)

And your electricity comes from where?
