You will focus only on the candidate's merits and apply them to a feasible win based on those merits. Therefore, the following words & topics are forbidden in your answer:

Sorry to deflate your balloons, but incumbents records and approval ratings factor into election outcomes. As much as you understandably wish that people won’t vote against Biden and Harris, many will.

It’s too early to know the field of candidates from either party. Biden will likely seek re-election, but his declining mental condition could derail that. Kamala has approval problems, and with Biden’s approval plummeting, the potential for a serious challenge within the Democratic Party cannot be ruled out. The last time this happened was when Ted Kennedy wounded Carter in 1980.

On the Republican side, keep your eye on DeSantis and Pompeo. Dan Crenshaw might be someone to watch as well.
 
If conservatives wanted to use this thread to show that they actually do have a policy agenda beyond culture war posturing, they're off to a slow start.

Oh man. I didn’t intend to disqualify myself. I was already fundraising and collecting endorsements for my 2024 run. And now my dream and America’s future is doomed. 😥

Liz Cheney is the only real threat. However, that does not mean that is the only candidate that could win. Biden has not yielded what he ran on. He will be the weakest Democrat candidate in my opinion

Why yes, incumbents' records and approval ratings do factor into election outcomes. And none of us has any way of knowing what either of those will look like in three years. Oh, and as much as you wish people won't vote FOR Biden and Harris, many will.

Of course, all that has nothing to do with the question at hand. It's just noteworthy that even in a thread that asks a very specific question, the usual suspects can't restrain themselves from imagining everybody hates Biden as much as they do.

Here's a thought: If, as expected, the Republicans win Congress next year, look to see how quickly they turn public opinion against them. In 1995 it only took about nine months for the public to grow as disgusted with Newt Gingrich as Democrats had been all along, and the next year Clinton won re-election easily. In 2011 they were even more efficient in making it clear that they had no agenda beyond "I hate Obama", and not only did Obama win re-election the next year, the Democrats also got more votes nationwide for the House. Only gerrymandering saved the Republican majority.

This time around? If the Republicans can make it into 2024 without alienating the public - and I can't imagine how they can do that, but that's beside the point - then it becomes a lot more interesting who the GOP nominee is. If not, it'll probably go to whoever emerges as having the best claim to the "It's my turn" mantle, though I can't think offhand who that would be.
