(the interwebs do not forget)

The Republican National Committee removed a webpage praising former TFG#45
for making a "Historic peace agreement" with the Taliban, on Monday

(Has it been deleted ?)

"...he (TFG#45) laid the foundation for the withdrawal by making a deal with the Taliban
that was supposed to have U.S. troops out by May 1.

"There was talk for a while of inviting them to Camp David last year to ink a deal."

Trump Slams Biden for Doing What Trump Bragged About

"I started the process, all the troops are coming home."

June speech comes back to haunt him (TFG#45) after he slams Biden over Afghanistan

“I started the process, all the troops are coming home,
they (Biden) couldn’t stop the process. 21 years is enough.…

"...an old clip made the rounds on social media, in which Trump bragged
just one month ago that he was the real mastermind behind the exit from
Afghanistan, saying that he "started the process" and Biden wanted to
stop it but couldn't."

Republicans are quickly scrubbing references to the Trump-led "peace agreement"
that led to the withdrawal—and the Trump-ordered release of some of the Taliban
leadership now seizing control of that nation.

Stephen Colbert has the clip

TFG#45 signed an executive order mandating that U.S. troops leave Afghanistan by Jan. 15, 2021.

September 11, 2001 formerly-Republicans walk past memorials, on their way to
a session to deny medical benefits to First Responders and anyone that survived.

Afghanistan's people are attempting to escape torture and death.

Those that cannot escape, are seeking to avoid the wrath of the Taliban, and are adjusting
their behaviour. The women are hiding, the men are acting the bully, towards women.
The women are purchasing clothing to hide their faces, hair, and bodies. The men are
demonstrating their willingness to be critical of women, and cooperative spirit to report
on women that do not conform strictly to Taliban standards.

Afghanistan's young journalists are putting their lives in danger.

Taliban forces have inherited American tanks, helicopters, weapons, ammunition, bombs.

Eisenhower's Military-Industry Complex Warning, 50 Years Later

NPR's Tom Bowman tells Morning Edition co-host Renee Montagne, Eisenhower
used the speech to warn about "the immense military establishment" that had joined
with "a large arms industry."

Here's an excerpt:

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted
influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex."

"The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist."

After four years of Trump, America is in rough shape, and formerly Republicans
and MAGA are rooting for everything to get worse, so that "it will make Joe Biden
look bad."

It is time to repair America, despite determined opposition from formerly-Republicans.

It would have been beneficial to America to have access to Afghanistan's resources.
Taliban has made the situation impossible.

It would have been beneficial to Americans to have had access to the wisdom, dedication
and insights of the Obama administration.
The Evangelicals and MAGA fanatics made the situation impossible.

Trump (and his sycophantic supporters) have very selective memory loss.

Redneck translation:

Once the American Left had defeated Trump,
the Taliban realized a new opportunity...

The deal included withdrawal of troops and contractors as well.

There was a lot of this deal that started a timer here and I'll be interested to see how it impacted the entire situation before Biden even made it into the oval.

And the above is not meant to be read as blame on Trump. I am truly trying to look below Presidential level at the diplomatic efforts over the past 20 years in the country to see how we got here.

As much as people are high level blaming here - there is so much to unpack and understand that we barely know currently.

The CIA told the Administration there could be a quick fall...a matter of weeks. The military denied this as a possibility claiming it would take months. Biden listened to his military instead of his intelligence.

The problem is simple. The ego of America. It is blind

Not at all simple
