What are some solid charities that support and help promote equity?

Have you donated to them?

Are they religion related?

Are they able to impact locally, regionally or nationally (or all)?

I'm just curious.

I'll jump in with mine in following post, but wanted to get a take from everyone on the topic.

What are some solid charities that support and help promote equity?
- I support St Vincent Depaul with donations (donated my car)
- My local running store collects shoes to donate locally for homeless
- I've worked and donated to my local soup kitchen which is great

Have you donated to them?
- Yes, though not as much as I'd like to.

Are they religion related?
- Half/Half
they able to impact locally, regionally or nationally (or all)?
- All three have real, visible results in helping people economically.
- A friend of mine puts together a bag of socks/shoes/clothes and toothbrush/toothpaste for homeless people who ask for money on corners.

so you cant define EQUITY

If you're not going to answer the question, then move to another thread.

I would assume a bright person as yourself has access to a dictionary or has your own personal definition that you can answer with. I didn't create this thread to listen to more of your whining.

Ahhh so the Marxist won't come out and say what he means by equity.

We know why.

Took you off iggy to see that you won't answer the question. More power to ya. Back to iggy.

You scored. He can no more define equity than he can fairness
for they are purely subjective terms outside of gaming theory.

A normative definition would be that everyone plays by the same rules,
but for the collective mind, fairness (/equity) implies unequal outcomes and
they feel booted and spurred to dictate favorable outcomes to their allies and
the groups that they have appointed themselves the guardians/spokespeople of.

I only support Christian charities.

They are the only ones that put people and needs ahead of desired (political) outcomes.

I had assumed those of you who are minimal gov't would have many answers because you believe local charities advance public good over government run efforts.

I'm sure some will actually contribute once we get past the first page of attacks.

I will define EQUITY

Insteas of LeBron James making $100 million per yr....he should give $99 million to fellow blacks who are in poverty!

etc etc

I don't need to be more specific and the only reason you were
was to establish some sort of ego-stroking sense of false superiority which is born out
in your negative reactions towards everyone who is not politically in you camp; they can never measure up...

So stop politicizing the issue; it's childish thinking.

Ok, your own prerogative. Thanks for at least providing a general answer.

Sidenote:

Matthew 25 Ministries (https://m25m.org/) has a good program to take old medicine/pill bottles to repurpose them for distribution in third world countries.

(since you mentioned Christian charities, it brought this to mind)

I much prefer aiding them in non-religious capacities, just because I don't think charity needs to have religious motives and should not promote any religion, but they do offer a large number of international efforts to bring people out of poverty.

EQUITY isnt having COLOREDCUNT at a food bank pretending to give a shit as she wears $500 sneakers

But wear $10 sneakers and give balance to the food bank

I am in touch with my community through the church
and I know where the local needs are.
I don't need your paternalization
especially when it rings false.

Thanks for your feedback, though I personally was hoping for more from people who donate time/resources to more than just the local church.

You seem to really need to repeat yourself on a point you already made. I don't believe the effectiveness has increased due to that repetitiveness, but you do you.

I'm an atheist.

You're a hater and borderline moron; it's the hate that causes that condition.

I don't trust "secular" charities because they are almost always agenda-driven.

You're an atheist but support charities through the church, who rely on donations to survive and most of your donation is going to keeping the lights on because secular charities are agenda-driven.

That's fucking hilarious.
