Charities That Support Equity

What are some solid charities that support and help promote equity?

Have you donated to them?

Are they religion related?

Are they able to impact locally, regionally or nationally (or all)?

I'm just curious.

I'll jump in with mine in following post, but wanted to get a take from everyone on the topic.

- I support St Vincent Depaul with donations (donated my car)
- My local running store collects shoes to donate locally for homeless
- I've worked and donated to my local soup kitchen which is great

- Yes, though not as much as I'd like to.

Are they religion related?

- Half/Half

they able to impact locally, regionally or nationally (or all)?

- All three have real, visible results in helping people economically.
- A friend of mine puts together a bag of socks/shoes/clothes and toothbrush/toothpaste for homeless people who ask for money on corners.

I would assume a bright person as yourself has access to a dictionary or has your own personal definition that you can answer with. I didn't create this thread to listen to more of your whining.

for they are purely subjective terms outside of gaming theory.

A normative definition would be that everyone plays by the same rules,
but for the collective mind, fairness (/equity) implies unequal outcomes and
they feel booted and spurred to dictate favorable outcomes to their allies and
the groups that they have appointed themselves the guardians/spokespeople of.

I had assumed those of you who are minimal gov't would have many answers because you believe local charities advance public good over government run efforts.

Sidenote:

Matthew 25 Ministries (https://m25m.org/) has a good program to take old medicine/pill bottles to repurpose them for distribution in third world countries.


(since you mentioned Christian charities, it brought this to mind)

I much prefer aiding them in non-religious capacities, just because I don't think charity needs to have religious motives and should not promote any religion, but they do offer a large number of international efforts to bring people out of poverty.

Thanks for your feedback, though I personally was hoping for more from people who donate time/resources to more than just the local church.
