Lies that Democrats tell about abortion

Before birth, they are fetuses or zygotes. Children, babies, infants all are terms for post-birth.

People can consider it horrific all they want. That is an emotional response which I don't share. Nor does it change my position. A pregnancy is the woman's and it is her body to do with how she needs and wants to. I don't make decisions because people tell me what to think....that seems to be more your thing.

I have no issue with viability as a measure of restraint on the procedure and would prefer that it be codified federallly. That is a compromise that I can agree on.

You have the facts. What you do with them is on you. You will be held accountable for your actions and support, not me. I cringe at what will happen when you stand before the Creator of those little lives you justify murdering. The killing of innocent babies to make your sexual behavior be "without consequence"? God help you!

I REALLY didn't want to wade into this thread. But I finally decided to read the original post to see if it was worth my trouble. Nope. Original post is based on an opinion piece that's a bigger pile of shit than the one I took this morning. Virtually no statistics or facts of any kind, just the exact rhetoric and emotional manipulation that the author accuses the left of using. Pot, meet kettle.

It did include a link to a fact sheet from some organization. The fact sheet was published in 2016. It referred to no evidence later than 2014. Ten. Years. Ago. What's changed in the past 10 years? I can't really think of anything...

But I did force myself to skim through the fact sheet that purportedly proves the author's points (not the OP here; I highly doubt it read the article itself).

There were dozens of statistics regarding abortions, including demographics, stage of pregnancy, etc. I didn't read every single one. But a few caught my eye. One was that, in 2014 (or maybe 2011, the fact sheet cites studies from both years) only 1% of abortions were performed after the 21st week. The study does not indicate or provide a breakdown of the reasons why those patients had abortions after 21 weeks. I would posit that the vast majority of them were for medical reasons, the life or ongoing health condition of the would-be mother. Prove me wrong, dickheads.

The fact sheet was a PDF, so I wasn't able to copy and paste. I was however able to zoom in and take a screenshot on some interesting statistics. Unable just to paste the screenshot into this post, so here's the link.

The bottom bullet in my screenshot breaks down abortions by religion. Imagine my shock and dismay to discover that 54% of women who obtained abortions identified as Christian! Traditional Protestant, Catholic, or ((gasp!)) Evangelical Protestant! I know, right? THIRTEEN PERCENT of abortion patients in this survey identified as Evangelical! You know, MAGA! Now, 38% of the patients declined to self-identify. Now, I wonder who would be most likely to hide their religious affiliation when getting an abortion? I'm just asking questions!

So to summarize, the OP is a piece of shit, the opinion piece he cited is a piece of shit, and a whole bunch of Evangelical Christians are full of shit.
