Billionaires and their space toys

Yes it is. It shows you again how the private sector can do what the government can't. NASA was becoming a hole we were throwing money into.

Better it going into the economy and research than into a Bali beach castle, but even better if it went for better wages to what got the billionaire his/her money and fair payment of taxes to keep citizen support going--at least the same percentage his workers have to pay. On the balance, no waving of a flag for these people.

How much money did this venture cost? How many scientist, computer programs etc. were put to work? How much raw material was purchased and used into the different designs. Tens if not hundreds of millions were pumped into the economy. Technology was developed that will lead to other things. That's why these tax benefits exist. This is what can happen when businesses keep reinvesting their money

You didn't bother to read my post, did you? What did the very first clause in my post say.

Feeling stupid, are you?

Money going to pay his "fair share" will benefit no one. It will be mostly if not all squandered. Take NASA. Their budget was significantly cut because the space program was too costly. The private sector did what government can't. You don't see the contradiction in your statement because you're not as smart as you think. Government has never fixed anything.

Yep, that's the mantra of those paying lick spittle to the 1 percenters. Congrats on being owned by them. You got your degree from Trump U, right?

It's gonna be a while yet before any private company can go to the Moon or further.

I wonder how those Communist Chinese manage to create so much wealth, go to the moon and mars, raise 520 million people out of poverty and make everything we buy?

The beginning of civilian space travel is definitely newsworthy.
Private companies going to space on their own is newsworthy.
Anything to do with space, rockets, astronauts and science is newsworthy for an organizations science page.

The same, tired, unoriginal name calling. You might have missed the last part of my statement. Feel free to list anything government has fixed.

If you took responsibility for your life, you would have no reason to be angry at others. That's the mark of people who are successful and happy with the direction of their lives. They don't have a reason to envy others. They also don't point the finger at other for their shortcomings. You should try it.

Breathtaking truth packs a punch-

If Jeff Bezos had paid his taxes, NASA would have had the cash to generate advances
in American intellectual property, that everyone could share.

Instead, Americans are witness to Jeff Bezos having an ego-stroke party, that
attention-whored by exploiting someone that has public standing.

We are expected to be impressed by Jeff Bezos's awareness of sexism, when the bare bones
structure of the Amazon company crushes human beings that labor for him, in every way
possible. Did Jeff Bezos and Mitt Romney have something in common ? They both cannot
perceive dehumanization, when the vision of profit harvesting blinds them.

When NASA launches, respect is paid to those that earn it. They are dedicated to America.

Besos and Branson did what NASA couldn't do last decade and did it for a fraction of the cost.

The next project these billionaires are working on is satellites that will make internet faster and provide greater access where it's needed most.

Right. This is like the dealership where I buy my Foresters very proudly telling me that X amount of my purchase price goes to charity. Well, I have charities of my own. I don't see the benefit of them getting the credit for putting my money that isn't going to buying their product into charities of their choice. If Bezos paid his employees better--the ones who are actually generating his revenue--he wouldn't have so much excessive profit that he didn't know what to do with. And if he paid his fair share of taxes, more could go to citizen services and it would spread further because of economies of scale.

Not a big fan of Bezos, but I'm all in favor of this, along with Branson's and Musk's ventures. Mankind has always been a discovering being, and we need men like this to remind us.

Back in 2004, a guy named Brian Binnie flew this little rocket-powered beauty, basically built in Burt Rutan’s garage, into space. No computer controls, not even hydraulics…the control surfaces were connected to the joystick by cables and pulleys, like a WWI biplane. THIS was the first privately built aircraft to fly to space, twice within two weeks.

So when Amazon man emerges from his ridiculously expensive toy that he had nothing to do with designing, building or flying (he even thanked all of us for paying for it), wearing a cowboy hat as if he some living-on-the-edge maverick who’s risking it all…well, I’ll tip my hat in respect to Brian.
