I wonder if he will spend his prison term in 'administrative segregation' aka "snitch row" (learned about this special cellblock from Monica Smoot). This is where they keep the snitches, the bad apple police and the flaming gaylords "for their own protection" from the general prison population.

I doubt Chauvin, for all of his prowess kneeling on unarmed peoples' necks, would last a week in general population.

I don't think there's any doubt that he'll have to be kept out of the general prison population--which will only be marginal protection for him, I'm sure.

I doubt this thinking will be well recieved here, but I always wondered if he is truly racist or not. Don't get me wrong. What he did was wrong he he deserves to be in jail.

But considering he was married to an Asian woman and that he could easily just be a sadistic bastard makes me wonder. I know, racism is the first (and only?) idea that pops into peoples heads.

One of the "policing reforms" that I have always thought of would be mandatory counseling for cops in inner city, higher crime areas. And possibly rotating them out to either desk duty or other areas where they aren't constantly dealing with lifelong criminals on a daily basis.

Chauvin was, and is a puke. But the idea that cops in higher crime areas could get jaded and suffer mental health issues from what they deal with regularly needs to be looked at.

That's an interesting article. It implies, that at lease SOME level of management with law enforcement and corrections, recognition that officers cannot be trusted to perform their duties because of their racial biases.

I have zero sympathy for these "discriminated against" officers. They did nothing wrong, true, but I suspect they turned a blind eye towards their fellow officers' misconduct. So bottom line: let them go work as mall cops.

I’m not sure what you mean by a blind eye. They were kept from being on his floor on day one.
