In the days of the dying Soviet Union, soldier routinely sold military ordnance on the black market. Looks like our troops have started takin' that road to ruin as well.

What a pity BoBo couldn't hack it in the Army...he could've made quite a profit doing this, what with his keen business mind.

I think the apogee of that in Russia was when guys used heavy lift helicopter (unauthorized, of course) to steal electric grid transformer out a military base, to sell as scrap metal, to buy booze.

It's also a running joke that in Ukraine, Donbas you apparently can buy a fully armed main battle tank in the local village convenience store, but that's a bit different situation (as it is hostile state actor sponsored "implausible deniability" campaign).

Soldiers selling weapons is a tradition as old as time. These guys got caught. Most do actually but plenty don't. One of the perks if you have the right job, friends and are so inclined. Gonna do time if you get caught tho and military time makes a supermax look like a cake walk.
Anyone remember cake walks? Those were nice. You walked, you got a cake. That's where this country went wrong, stopping those. We'd be hip deep in happy if we still did cake walks.
