Republicans

For the rest of my life, I don't want to ever hear another Republican lecture anyone about law and order, family values or morality. The Party of Trump has lost all credibility on those matters!

Welcome aboard....you in good company

To put it kindly.... REPUBLICANS are hypocritics!

Since Donald Trump was sworn into office I've heard Republicans proclaim that collusion isn't a crime, fraud isn't a crime, sexual assault isn't a crime, perjury isn't a crime and lying to the FBI isn't a crime.

Once upon a time, didn't the Republican Party claim to be the Party of Law and Order? How did they become the Party of Obstruction and Cover-Ups?

Oh... they are crimes under the right circumstances, meaning IF real.

But not made up or not provable in court crap.

Since you refuse to answer the question asked, I thought I would remind you it is Sunday...and time to go to your born-again thingamajigie to pat yourself on your back for being such an upstanding pile of shit.

Only Fascist traitors support Fascist traitors.

Presiderp Pompon 2024 ?

Pompeo offers burst of actions, attacks before leaving State

With a potential eye on a 2024 presidential run, Pompeo has doubled down on his support for Trump, even as other Cabinet members have resigned or stayed out of sight in the aftermath of the Capitol violence. While the House debated Trump’s role in encouraging the riot, Pompeo sent a tweet promoting Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Now, wouldn't that be wonderfully nightmarish.

Even as a candidate, Trump repeatedly encouraged violence calling on his supporters to "knock the crap" out of protesters, like in the good old days, even telling police "don't be too nice". So on January 6th, the day he promised would be "wild", it was inevitable that when he enjoined his supporters to march on the Capitol to "stop the steal" they followed his not so subtle bidding, to fight and show strength, with violence.

The ugly side of human nature was on display in his "Save America March", as rioters carrying Trump flags attacked the Capitol, some carrying zip-ties planned to take and possibly execute Congressional hostages. They smashed their way into and looted Congressional offices. Carrying "Back the Blue" flags they beat police officers (one of whom later died) with US flags, pipes and fire extinguishers. Trump's mob of white supremacists chanted "Our House" and did what the Confederate army in four years of war failed to do, bring the Confederate battle flag into the US Capitol, indicating this riot was also an open demand to continue Americas legacy of systemic racism.

This was the culmination of a process, five years of inciting his base to believe his lies and ignore his crimes, no matter how outrageous. If he had actually been up to the task of being president and interested in doing anything other than golfing and promoting himself and if he possessed an attention span beyond that of a five year old, he might have actually launched the coup he wanted. Still, through his mob of followers and those in Congress who still support him, he can cause plenty of damage. The carnage he sought is not over.

For his entire term, members of the Republican party tolerated his lies and his narcissistic insistence that loyalty to him was more important than the principals of their party or the nation. His overtly racist comments, his misogyny, his Islamophobia and promotion of violence could be explained away by his being "a little rough around the edges." He never did grow into the job as they hoped he would because he never wanted to, all he wanted was the prestige of the job, not the job itself.

denial, deflection, and disinformation

So many ways to dodge the truth!

Rand Paul Refuses to Acknowledge Election Wasn’t Stolen
as Stephanopoulos Confronts Him on Trump’s ‘Big Lie

“Can’t you just say the words ‘this election was not stolen’?”

Rand Paul attempted to frame the debate as the media being unfair,
as Stephanopoulos repeatedly pointed out the president did, in fact,
lie when he claimed over and over the election was stolen.

“This has been looked at in every single state,” Stephanopoulos said.

George Stephanopoulos ended the interview by once again directly asking Rand Paul
if he believes the election was stolen or not.

Rand Paul once again refused to directly answer the question.

A small amount of human error, (and a few Republicans shameless enough to provide
examples of cheating to point to) did not make a difference.

Steal the election once, shame on Trump!

Trump attempted to steal the election twice, but failed miserably!

It might have been Trump's claims about voting by mail that discouraged Republicans
from voting,

08/26/2020

Donald Trump Jr. is urging voters to cast absentee ballots in robocalls detected
across the nation Wednesday — even as his father continues to rail against
widespread mail-in voting.

The robocalls, which reference this week's Republican National Convention have
been deployed in 13 states — Arizona, Florida, Iowa, New Mexico, North Carolina
Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, Georgia, Texas and Maine —
all states the Trump campaign is targeting. They indicate that either the Trump campaign
or Republican National Committee has already mailed absentee-ballot requests to those being called.

I'm just a Black guy,
but I don't think you can “stand your ground" against law enforcement.
That's how you wind up buried underneath the ground.
Well, unless, you're a white domestic terrorist, I guess.

I didn't use to believe in "white privilege," but yeah...any doubts were removed when black protesters were tear gassed, but white terrorists got kid gloves.

Also Republicans:

Republicans 2002: "Deficits don't matter."

Republicans 2012 (with Paul Ryan eyeing Social Security and Medicare evilly with a meat cleaver): "Obama has exploded the debt!"

Republicans 2017: "We must cut taxes and go further into debt!"

Republicans (and Joe Manchin) 2021: "OH, MY GOD, the National Debt! We can't do that big of a stimulus!"

By the way, it takes a special kind of elitist, out of touch, smugness and class privilege to worry about an "overheated" economy when half of small businesses have just closed down and jobless numbers continue to climb.

When I read this headline I thought it was about Trump Supporters attacking the Capitol. After reading it, it sounds more like foreboding.

On Tuesday, Donald Trump's impeachment trial begins in the U.S. Senate. Last month, Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives for inciting an armed insurrection and attack on the Capitol that left at least five people dead (including one police officer). Two other Capitol police officers have subsequently committed suicide, apparently because of the trauma of that day. Dozens of other people were injured, (including at least 140 police and other law enforcement agents).

There is abundant public evidence of Trump's guilt, including the speech he gave at Ellipse Park in the hours before the assault in which he urged his followers to force Congress to change the outcome of the 2020 election. At the same rally, a Nazi-inspired propaganda video was shown that encouraged violence against Democrats and other Americans who do not support Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

The Jan. 6 attack was part of a larger pattern of behavior by Trump, his spokespeople and his allies, who for at least five years have used stochastic terrorism to encourage political violence against their perceived enemies, especially nonwhite people, Muslims, Jews and immigrants.

Of course, Senate Republicans have already made clear they will not convict Donald Trump for his obvious crimes. Today's Republican Party is a political crime syndicate, and Trump is its leader.

The U.S. desperately needs a domestic terrorism law to defeat the country's growing and increasingly violent right-wing insurgency movement. If no such laws are passed, then the attack by Trump's followers on the Capitol will only be the beginning of a larger wave of right-wing terrorism that may continue for years if not decades.

Not taking responsibility for her actions, Marjorie Taylor Greene claims that she fell into QAnon because she didn't trust what she saw on CNN or Fox news Channel, so she turned to Facebook.

"I was allowed to believe things that weren't true," she complains.

Uh huh.

So, "I'm a fucking idiot, but it's somebody else's fault," is basically the slogan of the Republican party at this point.

"I was allowed to believe things that weren't true," she complains.

Does this statement infer that she should not have been "allowed" to believe that crap? If so, Nancy Pelosi is her new savior.

Now go stand in the corner while others participate in Committee assignments.

”Slug Mike Pence!” “Pelosi? A fist to the head would be quicker!” “Does this mean we get to punch Hillary and Obama?”

You do realize Pelosi is a democrat, right? While Trump supporters were chanting, "Hang Mike Pence!." And Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene supported executing Democrats. And liking a comment about Pelosi that said, "A bullet to the head would be quicker."
IDK about you but I'd rather get a fist to the head than hanged or shot in the head. The other two seem a bit more permanent.

Me too. That’s why there’s no comparison to Leo DiCaprio.

Trump Loyalist Rep. Marjorie Greene (R-GA), Twitter den mother
to Right Wing terrorist rioters, is blaming Antifa for January 6th.

That is a strange tweet, because the people that attacked and invaded
the Capitol building, have been involved in violent anti- Democratic
protest marches and violent demonstrations against Democrats for years.

Every one of them, busted by the feds, has that history.

The Capitol Siege: The Arrested And Their Stories

in the Jan. 6 rioting, which ended with five people dead, including a U.S.
Capitol Police officer.

As video of Capitol riot played, some GOP senators turned away

- Karoun Demirjian

Almost every senatorial eye in the chamber was glued to the screens
lead House manager Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) played a 13-minute video
depicting the events of Jan. 6 to introduce the impeachment case
gainst Trump — with a few notable exceptions.

While the screen showed demonstrators marching on the Capitol,
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) looked down at the pad of lined paper in his lap,
where he had already begun doodling with a pencil.

Behind him, Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) studied papers in his lap, taking only
the tiniest glimpses at the screen to his right.

A few seats over, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) also focused most of his attention
on papers in front of him instead of on the images depicting the insurrection
at the Capitol

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) did the same.

Senators also have the option of sitting in the gallery to create more space
between lawmakers, but all chose to stay at their desks.

Masks for Safety

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) didn’t put on one at all
Sen. Cynthia M. Lummis (R-Wyo.) sat with hers pulled down below her chin.

The Georgia Secretary of State’s Office launched a probe Monday into former President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the presidential election, Reuters and The New York Times first reported.

A key focus of the investigation will be Trump’s startling recorded phone call early last month to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger telling him to “find” enough votes to invalidate now-President Joe Biden’s victory in the state.
Trump made a similarly demanding phone call in December to Georgia’s chief elections investigator, Raffensperger’s office told Reuters.

The calls were part of Trump’s constant pressure to overturn Georgia voters’ choice for president.

A day after the call to Raffensperger was made public, Reps. Kathleen Rice (D-N.Y.) and Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) called for a criminal investigation in a letter to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The letter accused Trump of “solicitation of or conspiracy to commit a number of election crimes.”

Trump’s efforts may have violated a number of laws, including state statutes against conspiracy to commit election fraud, criminal solicitation to commit election fraud, and “intentional interference” with the performance of election duties, which are all subject to fines and imprisonment, Reuters noted.

House Democrats will prosecute Donald Trump more like a "violent criminal" than a politician during his second impeachment trial.

Top congressional aides told Politico that House impeachment managers will construct a "succinct" narrative of the Jan. 6 insurrection starting with the former president's efforts to overturn his election loss to Joe Biden, and they'll use compelling visual evidence to remind senators of the violent threat they faced during the riot.

"It'll be more like a violent crime criminal prosecution, because that is what it is," said one adviser. "It will tell the story, the full story of … how the president incited it. Jan. 6 was the culmination of that incitement with his conduct leading up to it giving meaning and context to his words."
