Republicans

In the end, the most salient fact about Donald Trump may simply be that he is a crook. He has been defying the law since at least the early 1970s, when he battled the Department of Justice over his flagrant refusal to allow Black tenants into his father’s buildings. He has surrounded himself with rapists, child molesters, money launderers, and assorted lowlifes.

His former attorney, national security adviser, and adviser, and two of his campaign managers, have been arrested on or convicted of an array of federal crimes ranging from tax fraud to perjury to threatening witnesses. He employs the lingo of the underworld: People who cooperate with law enforcement are “flippers” and “rats”; investigators pursuing his misconduct are “dirty cops.”

When Trump talks, he sounds less like the president of a a free nation and more like a mafia thug with a history of bribing government investigators and dodging subpoenas.

RAW ......they clearly never took a basic civics class and clearly have no idea how things work in the USA.

Biden as POTUS won't have the power to indict anyone LOL

Hopefully your reposting of their grand display of ignorance will make you think twice about listening to a political "news" publication that couldn't pass a 5th grade civics class. :)

CNN hosts mock Ivanka Trump’s public meltdown after getting caught up in fraud probe

CNN's John Berman on Friday noted that the first daughter might be particularly worried about the investigation because her father's broad pardon powers do not apply to state investigations.

"She can't be pardoned by the president here," he said. "This is a state investigation, so state investigators are going to find out the truth here and there's not much that there's any kind of pardon can do about it."

When law and order and justice eventually catch up with Trump, the story won't be about Trump being guilty. The story will be why did the GOP let him get away with it for years? Why did they obstruct justice for a crook and a conman and a traitor?

Every prominent Republican from Ivanka and Junior to Nikki Haley will crack open bottles of champagne to celebrate the inability of Trump to come back.

The armed group of thugs that terrorized Michigan’s secretary of state at her home appears to have ties to a local Republican Party.

About 20 demonstrators affiliated with “Stop The Steal MI” shouted obscenities Saturday night outside Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s house, and that right-wing group claims to share its headquarters with the Macomb County Republican Party, reported The Daily Beast.

Lindsey Graham floats last ditch scheme to keep himself and Donald Trump out of prison

What do Donald Trump and Lindsey Graham have in common? They’re both traitors who are trying to figure out how to keep themselves out of prison. Trump has committed every crime under the sun and is a lock for prison in New York State, no matter what the DOJ does or doesn’t do to him. Graham has been caught committing felony election tampering in multiple states, and also has to worry about being locked up.

So it’s no surprise that Graham, the current head of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is now publicly threatening to reject any Biden Attorney General nominee who is planning to investigate Trump’s crimes. It’s not difficult to figure out why Graham is doing this; he’s afraid an aggressive AG will prosecute him as well.

Anyone moving into the acting U.S. AG position after Biden gets inaugurated and until a permanent AG can be approved is very likely going to be more hard-nosed than a new appointee in pursuing all of the Trumpean crap that's been going on. It will be someone from within the DOJ who has had to suffer it these last four years and who knows exactly where to start unraveling it all.

Ron DeSantis in hot water after warrant to raid Florida scientist's home
turns out to be fraudulent

(link)

Earlier this week, state police in Florida conducted an armed raid of COVID data scientist Rebekah Jones’ home, seizing her electronic devices and pointing guns at her kids, in retaliation for the fact that she blew the whistle on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ COVID coverup.

DeSantis claims that he had no advance knowledge of the raid, which no one believes, because of course he and his allies were behind it. Now it turns out the supposed reason for the raid isn’t believable either.

The state claimed that the raid was justified because Jones was suspected of hacking into an internal network to send a message to state employees about COVID. But now it turns out the message was simply sent to an email address that it had made publicly available. This means the warrant was fraudulently obtained, which in turn means a whole lot of people are in trouble.

This means one or more people in the Florida Department of Law Enforcement lied to a judge in order to obtain a warrant. It means police were sent to carry out a fraudulently obtained warrant. It means Rebekah Jones has the mother of all civil suits, if she wants it. And it means the people who fraudulently obtained the warrant are in danger of going to prison. No wonder DeSantis is pretending he had nothing to do with this. It could end up taking down his governorship.

Lying to a judge in order to fraudulently obtain a warrant is perjury. Those convicted can face up to five years in prison.

If Rebekah presses charges against DeSantis, it's almost certain that DeSantis will go to prison.

So, Donald Trump is a shameless attention whore who hates to be ignored. He needs for the attention to be constantly focused on him.

Well, come next year Trump is going to have more attention focused on him than he can handle. District Attorney Cy Vance and New York Attorney General Letitia James are going to be focusing on him so much, he's going to feel like a real celebrity.

District Attorney Cy Vance's criminal investigation of Donald Trump is focused on whether Trump and his business committed financial crimes. Vance's office appears to be particularly interested in whether Trump inflated the value of his assets to obtain loans while deflating those same assets when paying taxes, according to the court filing. Former Trump fixer Michael Cohen, who pleaded guilty to paying Daniels on Trump's behalf during the campaign among a number of other federal charges, testified to Congress that Trump inflated his assets while seeking a Deutsche Bank loan in a failed bid to buy the NFL's Buffalo Bills but "deflated his assets to reduce his real estate taxes."

Deutsche Bank officials were well aware that Trump was inflating his assets. "The bankers determined he was overvaluing some of his real estate assets by as much as 70 percent,"

The bank was subpoenaed in the probe last year and said it is cooperating with prosecutors. Aon also confirmed to the Times that it received a subpoena from Vance's office and said it would cooperate with any document requests.

Vance's office subpoenaed the Trump Organization for records related to tax write-offs on millions in consulting fees, some of which appear to have been paid to daughter Ivanka Trump.

New York Attorney General Letitia James is leading a separate sweeping civil investigation of Trump's business practices. Andrew Weissmann, a former prosecutor on special counsel Bob Mueller's team, predicted that James' probe could "quickly turn into a criminal inquiry."

Chris Christie releases new ad urging Americans to not be as stupid as he was

Trump supporter and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie announced on Wednesday that he will be starring in a new, nationwide ad urging Americans to learn from his experience of surviving COVID-19.

“This message isn’t for everyone, it’s for all those people who refuse to wear a mask,” Christie says into the camera.

“You know, lying in isolation in the ICU for seven days, I thought about how wrong I was to remove my mask at the White House,” he explained.

“Today, I think about how wrong it is to let mask wearing divide us,” he said, without acknowledging his friend in the Oval Office was the leading voice politicizing mask wearing.
“Especially, as we now know, you’re twice as likely to get COVID-19 if you don’t wear a mask. Because if you don’t do the right thing, we could all end up on the wrong side of history,” he said. “Please, wear a mask.”

Republicans are still pretending there was election fraud

December 17, 2020

- Jennifer Rubin

Two of the sworn witnesses in the hearing — Trump lawyers Jim Troupis and Jesse Binnall —
failed to persuade every level of the Wisconsin and Nevada judiciaries, respectively, of their
claim that the 2020 election was marred by fraud.

GOP launches legal war on absentee voting ahead of Georgia runoffs

December 17, 2020 update

Federal judges in Georgia will hear arguments Thursday in Republican-led lawsuits to restrict absentee voting ahead of next month's Senate runoffs — the first salvos in a GOP effort to change voting rules for future elections following President Donald Trump’s loss in 2020.

Republicans have filed three lawsuits in the state ahead of the Jan. 5 runoffs, in which hundreds of thousands of people have already voted by mail or in person for races that will decide control of the Senate in 2021. The suits primarily target the use of drop-boxes to return absentee ballots, as well as aiming to raise the threshold for signature verifiers to accept absentee ballots.

Trump Praises And Encourages Acts Of Violence By His Supporters

President Donald Trump on Saturday offered praise to a group of pro-Trump pickup truck drivers in Texas who surrounded and slowed a Biden campaign bus and who the Biden campaign accused of trying to run it “off the road,” adding even more evidence to the allegations that Trump encourages his supporters to act violently.

A dozen pickup trucks, sporting pro-Trump flags, followed a Biden-Harris campaign bus on a highway in Texas, following a Biden campaign bus, ramming a white SUV accompanying it and attempting to run the bus off the road.

Trump praised the acts of violence against American citizens, posting a video of his supporters engaging in terror on the highway along with a tweet in all caps, saying, "I LOVE TEXAS"

With all of this ramming and trying to force vehicles off the road, people could have been killed, but instead of condemning the violence, Republicans are praising it.

“There’s a Biden bus and it’s surrounded by pickup trucks on a highway all with Trump signs,” Fox News anchor Jeanine Pirro said of the incident. “I mean it’s just ordinary Americans taking this election into their own hands and getting out there and being real clear on what they stand for.”

For the rest of my life, I don't want to ever hear another Republican lecture anyone about law and order, family values or morality. The Party of Trump has lost all credibility on those matters!

Trump's thugs showed up at the Senate building with zip ties, pipe bombs, Molotov cocktails, sidearms and least one of them had a semi-automatic rifle.

According to General Barry R. McCaffrey, the U.S. very narrowly avoided having members of Congress seized and killed by the criminal mob Trump incited.

Trump was thrilled when his army of terrorist showed up and stormed the Senate Building. He watched them gleefully on television and told them that he loves them. Now, he says he's regrets telling them to go home.

Seriously, Trump doesn't regret inciting them. Trump doesn't regret the lives that were lost. He doesn't regret the violence. He doesn't regret that his followers attempted a violent overthrow of the American government.

NO! The only thing that Trump regrets is that it didn’t work! And that after planning it, bringing in every white supremacist he could find, and shoving them toward Congress, he didn’t do more to cheer for their victory!

A number of the rioters who were arrested for storming the Capitol Building are saying that they did nothing wrong and that all the charges against them should be dropped, because they were just following Trump's orders.

I'm sorry, but the Nazis attempted to use the "I was just following orders" defense at the Nuremberg trials.

That defense didn't work 75 years ago, and it's not going to work now.
