I'm considering a change

Lit, is Lit. It is what it is and there's no denying that this place is filled with people whose bellfries don't even have bats in them.

But, when my story ratings go down, and down, and down, and even further down from there, while the overall vote totals don't change, something is seriously amiss in wonderland. And the (not so) strange part is that this started right after "The Purge" and continues even as late as this past week.

So, in light of that, I'm considering a change in platform for my works. Which, so far, has come down to a choice between Createspace and Patreon.

Who has work placed somewhere other than Lit? Do you like it or are there just no other choices?

Take to the Whiner's, errrr, Author's Lounge, Rapey. No one cares about your regular posts let alone your weird-ass fantasy bullshit.

Your entire persona is weird-ass fantasy bullshit, Kato.

That goes double for G. Thurston Howell III.

Case in point. You fantasize that your ineffectual barbs sting. If they had any bite they'd leave a self-evident mark and you wouldn't have to constantly remark on how much "wounding" you do.

Cool. You drive a late-model busted-ass Prius for Uber. Now, go crawl back under your bridge.

I put my work on multiple platforms simultaneously and just factor in the quirks of each in reviewing how the stories are doing. Lit's advantage is a much larger readership (or View button response, at least) than other Web sites I post to. Posting both stories and controversial opinion posts to the same Web site in the same account name, will, of course, subject your stories to some attacking that has to do with your opinion posting rather than the relative perceived quality of your stories. It happens to me; there's no reason it wouldn't happen to you as well. It's something you have to factor in for yourself, though. It's not going to change as long as you participate in both venues here--at least if you are honest and use the same account name for both activities. I'll have to go and see if you actually have story production in the Hisarpy name.

The one who told you this should be in the AH rather than here was right.

I had posted on several other free platforms but none had the readership or response that Lit has. Typically I'd get one comment (on hundreds of stories) a year and maybe half a dozen votes.

If you think your stories are being unfairly targetted, send a PM to Laurel for a sweep of your works.

Thoughts and prayers to Harpy for his latest episode of victimization. :rose:

Another poor misunderstood literary genius. :(

If the scores and comments on my stories are an indication?

I'm NOT a literary genius.:(

If receiving positive feedback is used as a the main purpose of writing, don't bother publishing anything.

If receiving positive feedback is used as the main purpose of engaging in the various forms of social media, beat your electronic device to death with a blunt object.

Tune in, turn on, and drop out. That has a whole new meaning now for people who are brainwashed by the feedback mechanisms built into the virtual world.

The real world is so much more interesting and engaging. Go outside and brave the elements.

I do not care how my stories are received. I write for me.

But as for going out? We are in lockdown and I an at severe risk because of my age and medical problems, and I haven't had the vaccine yet - maybe next week.

Some people like some of my stories. That's good enough for me. I don't expect anyone to like them all - even I don't.

He didn't know how to come back to the board after 45's epic loss and 2nd impeachment.

I'm merely looking into changing platforms and was hoping for information as to alternative sites. If you know, then post or PM me please.

The reason for the ratings drop...

I think they use Dominion Voting Machines.

What, the Brits are not allowed to walk around in nature away from other people? Day-yum, that's bad news.

I'm out every day, doing projects and relating to the wildlife. The wildlife has never requested a "like" on Facebook.

There are two nudist beaches within five miles of me and a nudist camp site three miles away. But in Janaury? Nope!
