Got mine in and I’m hoping to finish another. It would be the first time I’ve made multiple entries. Good luck all. I’ve only read one so far and I dare say, SisterJezebel, I loved it!

Thank you! Most of my stories thus far have had death nd/or betrayal and/or heartbreak as themes with the major players. I intentionally set out to have none of this and to focus on a large, happy family that oozed love. I think it is too oozy tbh, but, meh, it's a Valentine's story!

To address KeithD's point, my story appeared 13th on the New list (14th, counting the contest promo at the top), so probably below the first screen on phones, while Oggbashan's were listed first and second. We both submitted early. I won't speculate on other possible reasons for placement on the New list. In any event, I don't feel slighted.

There are 15 first-day entries in all, so the contest page doesn't look so full as to put anyone off (I think). I'll probably start reading shortly.

Yep and mine was in the middle of them all! I'm happy with Ogg being Laurel's favourite though ;-)

I'm not planning on editing this story- heaven knows I've read it so much and double-checked each pronoun so it should still have a single sentence on the last page which will possibly bring out the 1* bombers again like last time! It's funny, but with lots of dialogue I thought it would space it out more and with 18,700 words would be almost 1/10 on page 6, but no- one sentence!

I've submitted my romance novella; QUICKSILVER is scheduled to post tomorrow. I've started a (hopefully) short stroker of a guy accidentally painting an irresistible aphrodisiac on V-day cards he sends out. All recipients, including female relatives and acquaintances, and even any BFs who touched the cards, are drawn to him. Bi, group, and incest ensue. If it's absurd enough, I may post VALENTINE POWDER to Humor.

I otherwise have no more V-day story ideas, or stubs I feel like morphing into V-day tales. I'll see if the voices in my head persuade me otherwise.

I have never entered a contest, but I would like to enter one for this.

What categories are allowed? All or a limited number?

For example, I favor Non-Con./Reluctance in my writing. Is that permissible or just erotic stores?

Any category you like but be careful you fit the theme or the readers may down-vote it.

Romance is obvious as is First Time. Others? If the action happens on or because of Valentine's Day, they could be appropriate.

Totally unexpected, I wrote a complete story today, which might suit this contest. But I'm not sure if it's worth publishing it; I carefully need to re-read it tomorrow, and see if it tells the story that was in my mind.

How do interracial stories do in 'NonConsent/Reluctance'; I mean non-degenerative interracial stories?

I put mine in for BDSM but Laurel moved it to 'Non-Consent/Reluctance'. It was barely hanging onto an H until the last bombing run. It's more of a comedy of errors than anything so....

ETA: Whoever is doing the bombing is reading this thread because no sooner than I mentioned being bombed here, I got two more.. I feel sorry for people who don't have a life beyond fucking with other people.

ETA: And after that post, I got two more. I asked Laurel for a sweep so she can try and figure out who these idiots are.

I haven’t kept count but I’m also being bombed. As soon as my story painstakingly climbs to “hot”, it’s pushed back down again. And since it’s in Toys & Masturbation, the trolls are about the only ones voting

I know there were some comments in this thread about the new list. I have some anecdotal evidence.

My romance story fell off the first page on day two. After two full days I had 5500 reads. On day three I only had about a hundred reads.

The main Valentine listing page didn’t seem to help much.

What was your category and what were your tags? That has a lot of bearing.

I'm sinking as well. I usually do in this contest; I don't enjoy "romantic" stories, so unless I spawn one that really wants to be written, I usually just default to bad people cheating on each other. Lol.
