I looked at the score.

Scores change by the minute, though. Especially at the end of contests. I saw mine go from 4.7 to 4.92 and down to 4.8 on the 12th, and assume when Laurel closed the competition it must have been round the high score.

Today I've looked at it a couple times because there's been new comments and that little blue W is cute, and there's been 700 new views, 13 votes, and it's gone down to 4.6.

Also in the last 24 hours the start of my GM.serIes still has only 12 votes but has.gone from 4.08 to 4.48, and my recent 750 word piece (in BDSM) has gone from 3.4 (I was amazed it did way worse than last year seeing I didn't piss off all the incels this time) to 3.7, with two new votes.

Basically there's a lot of variation and which of about a dozen stories win a contest is going to be partly luck. You win some and lose some - last year I hoped I'd get placed in a contest but lost 0.2 at the last minute. So it goes.

Congratulations to all the participants. There is so much talent in the group. I’m glad I was encouraged to enter. I debated weather I should enter, weather I was even good enough to try. Finally, I decided yes and got my entry submitted at 11:54pm on the deadline date. So glad I entered and I did way better than I thought. Thanks to all who have helped me, encouraged and supported me through my first 6 months of writing.
