Well I guess I could ask you to site a study that proves maks do mitigate the impact of SARS-COV2. I think they do, but I also think the implementation of mask wearing dramatically lessens their effectiveness. I have high end masks and I know hoe to wear them properly. I can't say the same for my fellow citizens. There's no standard. Slap something over your mouth and nose.
