With "science" increasingly becoming a political control weapon, not actual science in many cases but "science-ism," the officially approved one-sided "no opposing scientific arguments or disagreements allowed" selective version, its likely there will eventually be a public backlash or counter-current against actual science.
This "science-ism" (or "party line" science) is more and more fulfilling the role of a state religion with establishment "scientists," particularly those in academia and the bureaucracy, filling the role of a new "priestly class" which the civil overlords use to give themselves a cloak of "divinely approved" power that can't be questioned. The major media reinforce this control with their one -sided narratives, suppression and belittlement of differing views, and ostracization and censorship even of scientists who blaspheme the "priestly class" of establishment "scientists."
This is the new state religion and history has shown when religions are used as weapons of political control they eventually provoke both disrespect for the religion and a backlash from the public.
