That's a good question. His voice was raised for much of the evening too. But my understanding is that Trump gets tested constantly, so there's certainly a chance he didn't have it two days ago, or at least would not have been very contagious.
Bottom line is that we can assume Hicks acquired the disease on the campaign trail — a campaign trail that isn't safe in 2020, but that Trump was determined to go through with anyway because he arrogantly thought that the virus can be defeated by refusing to believe in it.
