Amazingly brazen attempt to obstruct justice and to conceal criminal intent of the Mueller Investigation. I'll bet his action took place as soon as Andy Weissmann realized the IG was looking at text messages of FBI investigators:

Ron Johnson asks Department of Justice I.G. to open probe into wiped Mueller phones

Destroyed data "raise concerns about record retention and transparency."

By Daniel Payne

Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson on Friday asked Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz to open an investigation into the dozen-plus phones belonging to associates of the Robert Mueller special counsel that had been wiped of data prior to being surrendered to investigators.

Government documents released this week listed multiple phones belonging to members of Mueller's Russia collusion probe as having been cleared of all data before they were handed over to Horowitz's office. Many of the phones, according to the documents, were purged of data after the users entered incorrect passwords too many times.

In his letter, Johnson—the chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs—said the missing data "raise concerns about record retention and transparency."

The senator asked Horowitz's office to "open an investigation into this matter to determine what, why, and how information was wiped, whether any wrongdoing occurred, and who these devices belonged to."

With all the major problems in this country, this is how Johnson is spending his time.

Tick, tock.

You've got 7 more weeks to manipulate the U.S. Justice Department. Time's a runnin' out!

When are the blockbuster revelations going to come out?

I had a fun time listening to Rush Dimbaugh yesterday loosing it over this story.

Hmmm....I guess I'm in trouble if I wipe my phone.

I guess all of you are in trouble if you wipe your phones.

So much for freedom 🙅

If your not committing a crime, haven't been charged with a crime.... Everyone is free to wipe their phones at any time!

That is how freedom works.

These were government owned and issued phones. The information on them they had on them falls under the protection of the Federal Records Act. Wiping these phones could be illegal if it was done to conceal evidence or obstruct justice, which was likely now that we know the Mueller investigation was illegal to begin with.

Meh, we used to have entire computer hard drives wiped clean when we turned them in. SOP for us.

Should we expect a Rosenstein indictment?

It's like the on again off again standards about when anyone can have a "private, sexual natter" with an underling.

We are back to the HRC standards that violating laws on classified information and records retention is optional.

The Dems impeached the President for refusing to turn over records and for not making Executive branch personnel covered by executive privilege available to Congress. Now the Mueller team is suddenly not required to retain records or make them available for congressional oversight.

Hillary taught them well! Dems can do no wrong. Did any Dems call out BLM over blocking an emergency room access road!

Yes, you can wipe your phone,
no you cannot wipe a government phone.
You might as well go into the computers and dump evidence...

"Wiping these phones could be illegal if it was done to conceal evidence or obstruct justice"

Could Be???? You really don't understand the law. Let me know when they have committed a crime or are accused if a crime.

See ya!

The only discussion in legal circles about this is regarding transparency and thought process...no reporting on illegality of wiping phones. After all, the info. Is in a report(s) now.

Of course, partisans call it obstruction of Justice. All partisans do this, both Reps. And Dems. Depending on how it suits their political message.

You folks are partisans and you don't know the law.

There's nothing wrong with what I said, it is an exact fact of law. Wiping those phones could very well be illegal. If it was done to conceal evidence or to obstruct justice. Wiping those phones could have been legal as well. If it was done under the guidelines of the Federal Records Act and other statutes. So before you do anything else...GOFUCKYOURSELF.

I think Weissmann ordered those phones wiped when he found out the IG was looking at FBI Texts between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. Strzok was a member of the Mueller Team and was dismissed because of his texts.

Tick, tock. Tick, Tock.

Better get those stunning revelations out soon, ReichGuide. I'm sure they will penetrate the chaotic media climate created by your cult leader and change the course of the next election!

Thanks...I fucked myself already today so I'm good:D

Meanwhile, US government lawyers admitted in court in Australia today that Trump offered a presidential pardon to Assange if he helped cover up that the Russians hacked the DNC emails. Treasonous fuck.
