Bed Bugs Need Lovin Too! <------- name of the hotel

A burned out crack house <------------ what ever room would look like!!

My hotel will be named The Brothers Brooks. There are no trademark issues as they will be on board, supplying the linens, staff uniforms and decor

There will be:

- Seersucker everywhere
- Fountains
- Baby ducks in the entrance
- Ethically raised baby tigers to pet (not Tiger King style)
- Discounts for women with massive breasts

There will not be:

- Anyone wearing TOMS. They will be escorted out and their ankles broken.
- Hippies. Duh.
- Hipsters. If a hipster sneaks in, he will have a MAGA hat placed on his head and an ANTIFA hoodie on his torso and he will be thrown into the middle of a protest.
- Skinny jeans on men. If you must come in you will be given bell bottoms to wear, as that is less humiliating.
- Patchouli. Anyone with this putrid stench will be sprayed with a skunk to help kill the smell.

This hotel will have class oozing out of its ass.

*sigh* I can't come up with anything really innovative or weird. But I want to stay at every hotel described except Ricky's. Sorry Ricky. :rose:

I'd love a hotel that was all little casitas - Spanish bungalow style casitas. Cute, adorable, lots of great windows and french doors leading to beautiful, private patios. Maybe they each have a small private plunge pool. Spa services that will come to your little bungalow, if you so desire. And a large central building that has amenities like restaurants/cafes/bars/shops/spas.

And of course it would be located in a climate where it is always warm enough to wear a swim suit, but no humidity. On a pristine, private white sand beach with Caribbean-like waters.

This probably exists somewhere. But I'm serious about the no humidity thing.

Sports has really taken a set back since all this Covid stuff. I’m not sure the men (some women) of America are going to survive the fall without Football. I mean, no hamburger spicy cheese dip, beer drinking or yelling at the TV?! 😳

Who’s having a mini meltdown on missing watching and/or attending sporting events?
Fav team or sport?

*Puts on my fav football tee, long matching socks and gets ready for some juicy sports talk.*

I actually think it's been good for me. I was spending too much time watching others do things. I was also helped by the fact that horse racing never really went away and that is a passion for me.

I miss baseball live. The sights, smells and sounds of a ballpark are awesome. The pace of the game allows for conversation and taking in your surroundings. I will miss college football, particularly tailgating. College basketball has gotten away from the game I loved. It was great but I think the AAU influence and the way the game is officiated have deteriorated some of the basic skills of the game. March Madness will always be fun.
My teams:
Orioles
Redskins
Anyone playing the cowboys
Caps
Maryland Terrapins
Tiz the Law

Apparently the Kansas City football team is going to allow 16K fans into games. I'd l like to see the crowd control on that one. I wouldn't be worried about me if I attended, but I would be worried about the 15,999 others.

I am definitely missing sporting events though. I've been watching a lot of hockey and basketball, a bit of baseball, but it all seems so forced? I'm enjoying it, but it is really, really weird without fans and the video boards of fans is really weird to me. It all seems manufactured and is ruining a bit of the overall watching experience for me. What's sports without fans?

When it comes to going? I miss baseball. Summer nights at the ball park, the Detroit skyline over the outfield wall. The whole experience of heading to the game, walking to the park, the energy of the fans. The "eat 'em up, Tigers" chatter, the guys playing make shift drums on buckets, a cold beer and peanuts. The sounds once you're inside, the crack of the bat, the beer vendor that you know because he's always working your section calling out, the snap of the catcher's mitt when the pitcher starts warming up in the bullpen near your seats. The little things you can't see on television like the right fielder conversing with the fans, if the runner has a tendency to lean or always lead in a certain way, chatting with your neighbor about if they should drop down a bunt, pull the corners in, hit and run. You could say I miss it.

In the words of Moneyball, how can you not be romantic about baseball?

i’ve convinced myself that we aren’t missing much, all the while watching reruns of 2019 college football games on ESPN and enjoying them.

I don't miss professional sports. But I quit watching what I did back when they started taking a knee.

College football is the only thing I've watched since, and really only WSU and whomever they are playing. Since they will now be on hold also, that will be a little sad. But I will make it through. ;)
I think it would be tougher to say that if my daughter was still over there though.

I’ll also miss wrestling. Not watching it, but taking part in it.

I dated a wrestler in high school. We rassled a lot. ;)

As for sports - I definitely miss sports. Much of my weekend social life is centered around college football in the autumn. When it comes to football and basketball, I prefer the college games. For hockey and baseball - I like the pros. It has been nice to be able to watch hockey and baseball again and yes, it is weird to not have the sounds of the crowd, but if it keeps everyone safer - so be it.

Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable attending a big sporting event with a normal capacity crowd. So even if the option to attend was in front of me, I would decline right now.

For those who are comfortable attending - a big part of me thinks they should be allowed. And if they get covid - it's due to their own choosing. Thin the herd. But the problem that I can't get past is them passing it on to others who did not make the choice to attend, what amounts to, a stupid game.

I think the schools who have delayed or cancelled sports seasons are doing what they think is best for their student athletes. I'm sure it was a difficult decision to make. There's no upside except the safety of the team members, staff, etc.

As for the schools who are moving forward with having their sports seasons - I wish them well. I sincerely hope it is successful and their teams stay healthy and covid-free.

I hope that it'll all go back to what was our normal, but it is hard to imagine when that might actually happen.

As an aside - I got all dreamy about QC's description of attending a baseball game. Every word he wrote is how I feel about it, too. I miss going to a game on a hot summer day or a balmy night. It is one of the true joys of summer.

First, aww shucks.

Second, pretty much how I feel. If you are cool going to a football game I want to have the opinion of "cool, I'm happy for you to go" but part of me is still "except that's how you can give it to all the people that aren't."

That first live event after we're past COVID is gonna be one helluva party though.

^This inspired me for today’s question.

So once it’s all safe again - even if we’ve got canes and walkers and in home nursing by then!....

What’s the first post-covid live group event you fantasize about attending?

Is it sports? A concert? Big family reunion? Work conference? The theater? Sprawling luxury resort? Raging backyard kegger? Political rally? Packed dance floor? Cruise? Fet-con? :D

Not a big event . . . just the fun of renewing the pot-luck picnic dinners down by the flowing creek with 5-10 couples, a smorgasbord of food on the table, wine, and a fire in the large fire pit. :) . . . will be nice to see good friends able to get together again.

Why did I read naked dance floor?

Sorry to all my family, but I'm forgoing a reunion for a concert. I, like many, had tickets for a giant outdoor show that was postponed due to COVID and I'm not even sure it won't get postponed again. But when it happens? Damn, it's going to be the biggest dance party, sing along, hugging random strangers, get lost in the moment concert rager of all time. I'm gonna sing and dance my god damn face off with 30,000 of my closest friends and it's going to be epic.

A very close second is a baseball game. Then maybe I'll hang with family. Maybe.

Dancing and figure skating.

I just want a no mask, free to go where you want society again. You know, like if we were in America or something.

P.S.—this is not an anti-mask comment, I’m all about protecting the weak and limiting travel for awhile, but I am becoming increasingly annoyed at the tyrannical politicians who are seizing this as an opportunity for control and power. My inner-Revolutionary-War-Guy is starting to get angry. :)

Agreed! And let's face it. Tyrannical intentions or not, I wear the mask everywhere in the public (except at the mountains which was heaven) and it's annoying af. Plus, I can't breath properly with that thing on.

Agreed!!! It's getting old.

I miss live music, my annual summer BBQ with tents lined up in the backyard & all the fixings, and female only spa vacations.

My cane will be at the ready!

We had planned a trip to Hawaii with about 14 family members prior to Covid. I'd like to have a family reunion with as many as can show up in the mountains of TN/NC where my mom is from.

I've had to cancel a couple things due to restrictions. So first i'll take back that 3 weeks in the UK and 2 canceled concerts.
