More proof the virus panic is bullshit

If nothing else, the convention seems to have fired up zipperhead...

I wonder if he can keep the flames of passion fanned until November.

I really think he lacks staying power though...
Poor little A_J, still sniping from behind the safety of ignore like the cowardly little bitch I've always said you were. :D

And what is your point? The greater the extent of the testing the more positive cases are going to be found. Infection rate is one thing, death rate quite another. Point being, I didn't forget shit.
and when you look at the deaths per capita you can see what a shot job Trump has done.

But you know that.

I wish Obama were still President.
If not one thing had changed as per
the course and breadth of this pandemic,
he would have been proclaimed to have been
our salvation and the reason that the numbers were
all so low, especially the mortality rate, and the outcome so positive...

Hell, by now, the pandemic may have been declared over and the masks unnecessary.

Ditto had Secretary Clinton been pulled over the finish line by her adoring and idolatrous press...

It's not much worse than the seasonal flu. But you do bring up an interesting question. "Why is the death rate so much higher in those blue states?"

Iran has crossed the 20K death threshold,
but we're the ones doing it wrong if
you listen to the Democrats...

In their very scientific minds, Trump concocted the virus in his super secret evil laboratory and then unleashed it on the citizens. He then conspired with all of those blue state governors to use the disease to destroy the economy.

COVID-19: There have been approximately 774,682 deaths reported worldwide. In the U.S, 170,559 people have died of COVID-19, as of August 18, 2020.*

Flu: The World Health Organization estimates that 290,000 to 650,000 people die of flu-related causes every year worldwide.

In the U.S., from Oct. 1, 2019 – Apr. 4, 2020, the CDC estimates that 24,000 to 62,000 people died from the flu. (The CDC does not know the exact number because the flu is not a reportable disease in most parts of the U.S.)

The COVID-19 situation is changing rapidly. Since this disease is caused by a new virus, people do not have immunity to it, and a vaccine may be many months away. Doctors and scientists are working to estimate the mortality rate of COVID-19, but at present, it is thought to be substantially higher than that of most strains of the flu.

*This information comes from the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases map developed by the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering.

Why not both?

Really?

81 million people in Iran.

We are doing so much better that they, and many others, are...

We're even seeing some of those early declared "doing it right" paradises
now in the throes of doing it wrong, take New Zealand, for example...

We were, as a huge polyglot nation,
supposed to be enjoying their success...

(And by all the Gods, if we didn't have Trump we would have!)

... but then they suffered relapse. It seems the virus is smarter than the loyal never-Trumpers.

Yesterday:

9 dead in Germany
1300+ in the US

(Eleven paragraphs of utter bullshit from Dr. Coronager to follow.)

83 million people.

328 million people

.25%

German deaths - 9300
USA deaths - 172,000

.05%

.2% difference.

That's a real scary number.

Brazil has 110,000 deaths, for example;
they have a population of 209 million
and they don't even have widespread testing.

Germany has also started trending upward again.
You, as demonstrated, cannot pick which day you want to
use to prove the rule, especially when that day is the exception.

How's that for comparisons?

What is the death rate down to now, 2-3 per thousand? Roughly a little worse than what we experience from the annual flu outbreaks with the same vulnerable groups being hit the hardest. And the more we test the lower the death rate falls. So much so that the "science" is beginning to call into question the efficacy of the draconian measures certain politicians have either enacted or demanded be put into place.

As I've said before, this Wuhan Flu isn't going away. It's going to work it's way through the population just as any other flu/cold virus does. A viable vaccine, if one ever becomes available, will reduce the death rate and that's all it will do.....reduce it. And like all other vaccines it will bring with it it's own risks.

Don't ya just hate it when the "settled science" is such a moving target?
"A little worse"?

Meanwhile, back in the reality-based world....
National Review: Coronavirus Kills More Americans in One Month Than the Flu Kills in One Year

You’re not embarrassed by the stupidity you posted here?

Hint if you suck at math:

US has app. 4x the population
US has app. 20x the deaths

That’s a little more than .2% difference, dunce.

Deaths per 1 million people (as per Worldometer):

The US: 529
Brazil: 517
Iran: 239

Now, I'd bet there's probably some underreporting in Iran. Lots of rural and impoverished areas.

On the other hand,
Sweden: 574
Uk: 609
Spain: 613
Belgium: 858

Although they had big numbers early (at the same time that NY was a shitshow), and not at all the recent second spike that the US has had. In the UK, Spain and Belgium the powers that be has taken a lot of flack for being late on the ball and mishandling the situation.

Here in Sweden on the other hand, it's just... weird. Lots of fatalities that seems like they could have been avoided, but noone seems all that upset about it.

Except things would have changed. Can you say Ebola?

It’s like when their mouth starts to move a lie is being born.
