Good morning everyone..

One of my neighbors has a Nespresso machine and I have to admit whenever she invites me for coffee I always go to her house.

Does anyone own one? I have questions.. The cost for the machine is easy to find but what about all other stuff.

What’s that cost?
Is it a pain in the butt to clean? Not that I’d be doing the cleaning.

Or is it something that has to be cleaned after every different coffee flavor/type is made?

I noticed a Nespresso store near our house. So I assume I can buy whatever I need there or online.

What are your favorite pods/capsules, whatever?

How well are their machines made? Do they breakdown often?

Also anything else that I need to know or that you want to share..

I had to Goog. Looks like cool stuff.

I noticed in the reviews that the company attempted to reach out to unhappy customers to resolve the situations. I like that.

Get a red one.

Because of Covid

Because of Covid we’re definitely spending less on stuff like Starbucks or fast food, so their is room in the budget. My kitchen is white, with a baby blue backsplash, black stainless appliances. So I’m not sure about red. It would definitely stand out.

The K cup is a standard size and easy to find. Pricey, but so what? I drink coffee every morning. I do not go to Starbucks (only during emergencies). I just bought a red one for the hell of it!

:)

What’s the individual cost of a cup? Not like the cost of the milk/sugar. Just the per cup cost..

I like red.

They are easy. And easy to clean. You can get off label k cups that are less expensive

I already had coffee allotment for the day and now all of this talk in calling me to make round 2.

The GB has really gone hell.

Real trick..

Depending on what flavor coffee, between $1 a pod to $1.50 for the "mug" sized pods.

That whole Mug Sized thing. My regular coffee cup is a tumbler. A Wonder Woman tumbler (that’s funny to people who know me.) it’s probably like 5 “mugs” of coffee worth.. and I don’t just drink one. However as the day progresses it gets washed out and changed over to something else..

The 14 ounce Alto pods start at $1.75.

....and you're gonna be dead from adrenal fatigue at 55 drinking that much coffee!

The real killer is the plastic waste that goes into the landfill.

You’re not wrong..

The real killer is the plastic waste that goes into the landfill.

I’ve never used a Keurig machine.. so far I’ve been getting by on my KitchenAid grinder/coffee maker.. the grounds go into the yard, and the filter can be composted..

That is what I was thinking. I know the k cups are everywhere (up here). Nespresso I think you may need to order online or go to their shop.

I’m not sure. I have only ever used one at the Waldorf.

I don’t blame you.. all this stuff is so confusing!

The coffee is pretty good, but then you know that already. At home, I use a French press. No trash leftover. It’s all about the beans.

The K cups are plastic and not every locality has a recycling program as part of their waste management. The Nesspresso is the same deal.

My tea bags get composted and the cup washed by hand daily.

Grocery store..

Both the local chain grocery stores have Kcup recycling. I would venture a guess that the Nespresso store has one too...

Now I have different questions..

I’m not sure. I have only ever used one at the Waldorf.

Tell me about the coffee at the Waldorf.. that might be for a different post.

And now more than anything in the whole wide world I want a mug of Aglao's pressed French beans

w/ a spoosh of milk
don't judge!
