Nespresso Coffee System?

I’m not sure. I have only ever used one at the Waldorf.

The coffee is pretty good, but then you know that already. At home, I use a French press. No trash leftover. It’s all about the beans.

French press here, too. I find the coffee has a richer flavor than any other brewing method I've used, and captures more of the oils. Only daily waste product is the grounds, and water used to clean it.

Tell me about the coffee at the Waldorf.. that might be for a different post.

It’s a small thing comparatively, but I like it.

And now more than anything in the whole wide world I want a mug of Aglao's pressed French beans

w/ a spoosh of milk
don't judge!

Come get you some!

You need to try True Stone if you haven’t already. You will not be disappointed.

I had one in college..

I remember living with 3 girls in college, we all chipped in and bought a French press. I remember sitting on our 19th floor balcony recovering from the night before with coffee (it never seemed hot enough) and a little pot to take the edge off.

Haven't tried them before; looks interesting. Might have to make a day trip out of it.

They’re right across from the St Paul Farmer’s market. I’m sure you can find their beans in your neighborhood. I found them when I smelled their coffee brewing at one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. My neighborhood bakery carries their beans.

Good morning everyone..

One of my neighbors has a Nespresso machine and I have to admit whenever she invites me for coffee I always go to her house.

Does anyone own one? I have questions.. The cost for the machine is easy to find but what about all other stuff.

What’s that cost?
Is it a pain in the butt to clean? Not that I’d be doing the cleaning.

Or is it something that has to be cleaned after every different coffee flavor/type is made?

I noticed a Nespresso store near our house. So I assume I can buy whatever I need there or online.

What are your favorite pods/capsules, whatever?

How well are their machines made? Do they breakdown often?

Also anything else that I need to know or that you want to share..
I like my Nespresso. It has replaced my Keurig. The coffee choices are plentiful. I only have two cups per day so cost has not been a factor for me. Know that there are two types of Nespresso pods and a specific style of machine to use with each pod type. There are also different pods depending on how much coffee you want per serving

My Vertuo style of pod is aluminum with a foil/Mylar seal. Nespresso will give you a bag to return the used pod for recycling. Free bag and free return shipping. The aluminum is recycled and the coffee grounds are composted. If you buy enough pods from Nespresso the shipping to you is free too.

I bought a Beeville brand Nespresso machine. It has been good. It tells me when to clean it. I then go to YouTube to watch a cleaning video on what buttons to push and hold for cleaning. Not a big deal except for the time and needing a large container to hold the flushed out cleaner.

The 7.7 oz cup pods are about $1.10 each. I get some Half-caff flavor and some Blanco Forte.

I use the Nespresso Inissia Original Espresso Machine by De'Longhi. No issues, makes great espresso.

Amazon sells various Nespresso compatible pods for around 30-60 cents each. (They're about double that at my grocery store.)

Exploring that.

Yep.. I’m looking at that now..

I’ll finish my tumbler..

I’ll finish my tumbler and switch to water.. I have a busy evening so I’m not going to start drinking for a while...

Normal Friday summer behavior would be vodka lemonade.. but not today..

I got me one of those to have on hand for when I now and then want an espresso. It's probably one of my worst investments. Not because it's bad, it does the job quite well. But because since I bought it, I've craved an espresso about twice a year.

I'm a coffee hog, but it's 99,5% drip brew.

I probably have one a day, and a couple on weekend mornings.

Great stuff if you want a quick pick-me-up!

The rest of the time it's Keurig.

I got the Nespresso Vertuo.. they didn’t have red.

This weekend we got the Nespresso Vertuo and a variety pack of capsules..

It’s good, but I’m not blown away yet. What should I be drinking?

It’s been 6 days!

I do enjoy the coffee but I’m not as crazy about it as I thought I would be..

What flavors/types do people like?

Really? I’ve actually never had a Barista

Starbucks Blonde is tasty.

Do you target the Blonds specifically? How often does the carpet match the drapes? New life goal added!

Oh you meant the actual coffee...
