Am I the only one who doesn't miss "real dating," views it as a way to get ripped off, lied to, and out the cost of two meals in one night?

Why would I pay a total stranger to sit there and lie to my face? I've already got politicians for that. Why would anyone miss "real dating?"

I think you're conflating "real" with "traditional".

And yea, traditional is buuuuu shit.

Maybe, but he's not wrong.

Strong independent wahmenz need to be treated as equals....so they can buy their own fucking cocktails and tickets. :D

Times change and everyone's social areas are different. Over here we just call it "hanging out." If sex happens afterwards, it just happens. Then you decide what you want to do next, if there is a next.

But in this current moment, if you weren't already a part of something before the pandemic hit, "dating" in the traditional sense is more or less kaput. Gotta get creative if you wanna get with somebody.

I'm married, but polyamorous. I've long since stopped traditional dating. I'm just reacting to the weird memes that bemoan its decline.

So, essentially, you're pissed off because you spent money on a meal and didn't get blown?

you're the fellow on craigslist promising a meal for a fuck!

I'm very wary of these dating sites/apps that pair people together based on supposed compatibility based on the details about themselves that they input into them. It feels like the early stages of getting society to a place where we will be prescribed sexual partners by the state instead of us making connections of our choice by ourselves in the old fashioned way, with all the issues and potential dangers (for women) that go with that. It will probably encourage more interracial connections too.

If it keeps up, one day we’ll all be the same shade of beige.... then what?

Really? That is your new fear?

Take comfort in that fear being completely irrational.

As opposed to "fake" dating and lie to you online? lol
Yeah, no. Give me the real dating anytime. Physical presence still reigns supreme.

Instead of paying for dinner, you can wash her dishes, mow her lawn, and clean the litterbox.

Pay attention. I haven't "real dated" in years. I just get annoyed by the stupid memes.

I've been catfished. It still never got around to costing me any money.

Not a fan of the whole paying someone else to lie to me deal.

Men have always understood that the upkeep of women costs money.

Why they now get angry about it is a bit befuddling.

Not angry about the cost of it, but annoyed by the memes bemoaning its demise. I don't miss it at all. I'm simply stating my utter lack of nostalgia.
