Pain - I try my best to avoid it.

I will always say I have a low tolerance for pain, because if I said otherwise, I know the guy next to me would tell me that he was a Navy Seal and pulled 15 of his guys out of a burning building while getting shot 35 times and then he finished a crossword puzzle before performing surgery on himself using hot shards of shrapnel he found lying in the sand.

And then I would have to say, “Yeah, but this one time, I stubbed my toe and it really hurt!”

On a scale of a splinter to self-immolation I would say I’m average.

Body pain, like, appendicitis, or labor? Keep it.
I can handle pain. Muscle pain. Stinging pain. Headaches. I will usually medicate at night if I have to, and try to suck it up during the day.

Keep your emotional pain. I’ve been there and done that. My ex was mean.

Yep, I can relate to that, you just end up misrable without realizing it and then once you've moved on look back and say "oh not not but hell no on going through that again".

I can tollerate physical pain but I'm not into it. Be that sexual or otherwise.

Emotional pain? I can handle it like a pro.

I don't know what constitutes "normal" pain anymore.

With my diagnosed a few years ago my body was collapsing and I would lose conciousness due to the amount of pain I was in. I don't remember one part of childbirth hurting. I just remember the sheer will I found to give birth. I actually remember catching my thoughts about 5 hours in and noticing that it didn't hurt. It was surreal.

I've also been hospitalized for post traumatic stress disorder and as I healed I realised how low I'd actually gone. Now I can recognize the warning signs and although I may still be functional, I know that pain and figure I don't need to tolerate it, so I get help.

It's amazing how much pain I'm carrying and I don't even realise it until the burden is lifted. That applies both physically and emotionally. I recently had surgery to relieve some ailments and now that it's over I feel 100% better. The same sorta feeling I had finally leaving a toxic, abusive workplace.

Nope, sorry. It is gender specific. If you say it you will get a woman explaining how she gave birth while working on the assembly line. In fact, she was in labor hours before her shift even started and after several hours on her feet, she finally decided to go on her break and perform a C-section on herself. She stapled herself up-using actual staples, and then worked a double shift.

One never knows how much pain one can handle, until one has no choice. It isn't about whether a human can deal with pain...it is all about how much you bitch dealing with it. Those with "lower" tolerances to pain...seem to be the ones that bitch the most...about everything...not just pain.

This is an outrage! How dare you say I have a fantasy about being a male stripper!
First of all, being a male stripper would be my only option because of the whole "penis thing".

I was going to say I'm a badass and can take the pain, but in an ironic coincidence, I sprained my ankle yesterday and it hurts so bad! I fell when water skiing and felt something pop, so off to the ER we went. Luckily just a bad sprain, but still.

The main plot will be the same, but the devil will always be in the details. And then there are the people who have to sensationalize things, beef up the story, to make it more interesting. There is almost no way to ever know the whole truth about anything. The trick is figuring out the basic truth and doing your best with it.

There is beauty in that.

this depends greatly on context; but there may be a generality to be found here. For me, I do what I say I am going to do (for the most part)
"Say what you do" in the context of how I view myself seems a bit boastful - and I've never really been one who developed that trait.
