enlighten me;

" you can't make me wear a mask! you can't tell me what to do! you're violating my rights! you can't tell me what to do with my body!" fuck the whole idea that i have to take responsibility to not infect other people if it intrudes upon my sense of my rights.

AT THE SAME TIME; "you can't have an abortion! who cares if you were raped, sexually abused or just made a bad choice? you have no right to decide what to do with your own body! WE'LL tell you what you can do."

the same people, at the same time. don't even try to dispute it, there is enough history on here to show that he same people are the same people. just explain it to me.

Interesting that you can only see the hypocrisy one way.

"My body, my choice." unless I believe that magic masks only stop viruses going one particular direction based on my fears.

It's not surprising because over half of people don't really believe in the entire concept of a soul and you have to have one to be concerned about extinguishing one.

Also, one set of behaviors causes a person to unreasonably fear death, the other behavior actually causes a person to die.

Which, people who have no soul don't believe, because they don't believe in the unique nature and value of each individual person and the miracle that any of us are sentient or have a conscience, of whatever degree of functionality.

I literally ran over a kitten the other night. I tried desperately to avoid doing do and failed. I felt terrible about it. My feeling bad for extinguishing a life that no one is going to miss is not unreasonable. The kitten, despite being stubbornly determined to complete the intercept course he was on did not deserve to die. The world is not better for its absense.

Nothing makes sense any more.

That's by design. Post modernists have trained two-three generations of acolytes to ignore rationality and common sense. Truth is what.it can do for you, not an objective standard. Adherence to the narratives and ideology of the collective rather than critical thinking is the goal.

What do you expect from the same people who only see statues honoring racist confederate traitors as history and not constant reminders of the exploitation and discrimination perpetrated by white people against black people.

Get ready to have one of the GB idiots try and turn your comment around and say that you're the hypocrite.

They're so predictable.

Pregnant women should be allowed to vote twice.

Why is your snark always stupid on multiple levels? You seem incapable of drawing parallels and constructing valid analogies. The key to a good analogy is it should be analagous.

We don't allow women to vote on behalf of their children for one thing, and the other person involved is not of voting age.

You should have stopped at the first part...

you dont understand lots of stuff cause you are a DUMMY:)

If there’s a business I want to shop at and they require masks, I’ll wear one. I think they’re pointless, personally, but it’s their business and they set the rules.

I’m really getting into this whole curbside pickup thing, though.

I hope they keep it around!

As far as the abortion thing, until someone gets it through the Supreme Court to change it (and I don’t see that happening) I leave it alone.

Yes, face masks are pointless. But the hoods aren’t. They’ve got points.

No longer a choice here. Mandatory masks beginning on the 19th. Fines are $1000-6000. And they will fine.

We have politicized everything to the point that we no longer see the forest for the trees.

A company I do contract work with has an outside sales force. The company supplies their people with PPE and has created a CV19 task force. Somehow I got included in a company wide email blast about how the sales people weren't social distancing when they were meeting with their contacts. They wanted to ensure that everyone was adhering to their CV policies and wearing masks and keeping their distance at all times. They have a reporting structure for employees to report "unintended contact" when they, or the other person, is not using PPE regardless of whether it was work related or not. (Yes, it's that stupidly inclusive - tell the company that yesterday you got gas on your way home from work and there was a guy 15 feet away at the other gas pump not wearing a mask and you're REQUIRED to give the company the license plate number of that guys car or be "disciplined".)

About a week later there was another email blast thanking everyone for their cooperation into what the company called an "investigation". It turns out that most people aren't concerned with CV19 and just want to get back to living their lives again.

Yet the news cycle and talking points are all about how we need to be doing more to save ourselves from certain death from the virus. Because it's politically expedient to keep up the furor in the name of defeating your political opponent. Even if, for the most part, people don't care that much.

One anecdote = people don’t care.

You’re just full of shit. Tell your dumb story to a group of overworked nurses.

Just 2 points here:

1. If you go do a survey of nurses and find the results are different, HOW is your "anecdote" any different than the one I posted about?

2. I did mention that the entire issue has been politicized.

Ok, here's a 3rd point just because...:

3. Please try and keep up with the rest of the class.

Where does this part come from?

I haven’t heard that blatant lie from any news source, not even Fox. Yet you and a few others here seem to encounter that kind of news daily. What should I be doing to educate myself on that point?

Abortion is not about the "body" it's about the LIFE growing within it.

AHHHH! Preempting the argument, such an original tactic from the anti-american progressive socialist communist. You should take pride in being a socialist and communist at the same time. Only in your delusional state can you achieve both! March on COMRADE!

STUPID PEOPLE DON'T KNOW THEY'RE STUPID BECAUSE THEY'RE STUPID! :D:cool:

Masks have been popular in the BDSM community forever.

Is the USA opening up to its true nature?

Your " sense of your rights" is what is flawed and you and everyone else who uses this argument makes the same mistake. Your rights are not absolute! No one can make you were a mask in your home, on your property, and most likely in the car. Anytime your in public(or in publicly.owned buildings), your colliding with the "public good" and your rights are not absolute to what your feel they should be. They are contingent on the situation, public health being an example of one contingency. You enter a private business, it's their property, they incur all the liability if they don't follow the guidelines by Govt for public safety. So, if they can deny you service for not wearing shoes, a shirt, cursing, etc. they for damn sure can refuse you service for not wearing a mask. This is the simplest to understand...not following govt public safety guidelines will end up with the business being sued and losing the suit if another person is harmed by the business not following the guidelines to the letter. Plain and simple in a system with clear legal rights.

Yeah, you should have stopped here, abortion is legal by choice. Women and their doctors decide what is right for them. You better pick a different analogy.

If they’re requiring a mask to go into a certain place, I have the right to stay my ass home and not go there or just go elsewhere.

I’m pretty much positive that’s where my rights end on this.

I overheard someone today outside of a gas station/convenience store where they’d been refused entry “if they want me to wear a mask, they had better provide it”.

They don’t provide you with flip flops and pajama pants to shop at Walmart, this isn’t any different.
