Mandatory teaching of LGBT history in IL public skools effective today

I no longer even find it funny - "The culture of people who have sex differently than you and I"

I think it's awful that they're forcing you guys to pay taxes for things you don't want to, and your kids don't need.

Another great motivator for school vouchers and private schooling.

Or to just get the fuck out.

That's where this shit is heading.

Things for non-"progressive" people in some of these blue states is going to become so antagonistic and hostile even the liberal blue will be run out.

Us is nation of faggot. More US men are fag then straight so need to teach safe butt sex.

If you are offering the example, perhaps written English should be the first order of business in our schools.

yes, I heard all sorts of bad things about voucher schools, but now I'm starting to see their logic.

Black history or literature teaching - yes, those make sense for so many reasons.
Classes about LGBT and Trans discrimination - yes, homophobia is still a plague.

But LGBT History???
Why displace Philosophy, Classical music & or How to cook classes?

I keep wondering what the real agenda is, too many woke classes
--Subtle mind engineering into some utopic Marxist society..?..
--Are some of the Soros/Gates billionaires or world puppet-masters gay...

Absolutely worthless knowledge. Just cultural indoctrination posing as something important.

What about Homeless history, Junkie history, Skid Row history, Burning Man history, the history of Crystal Power, and all of the rest of meaningless bullshit and economically worthless crap designed to keep us ununited in small segmented classes of society.

Indeed.
It's gone surreally beyond a 'protect minorities' or PC culture, for people not to ask about a covert agenda.

Because I remember Mark Blythe's?? comments about the post-war and the 60-70's cultural revolution.

Yes, the marginalization of women was a valid concern at the time, and the Feminist movement was legit.
But they also needed an increase in the workforce to combat inflation?/deflation? So they doubled down on adds about women not being dependent on their husbands and so on.
Which was a great thing in theory, but they also manipulated things into the fact that nowadays one partner's salary is insufficient to support a household.

So when do they teach how to Read and Write or maybe add a couple of numbers together?

Reality check. This will not create new courses or classrooms. No other courses will be cut to make way for it and It'll have zero impact on any hopes for revival of Philosophy, Classical Music or home-ec studies. What the law says is that historically important contributions to our history by people of LGBTM-O-U-S-E orientations should be taught alongside everyone else's, within the existing curriculum. It's pretty much noting that our history isn't only about old straight white guys.

Hey, I'm gay and live in Illinois and find this pretty boring news. You guys all need to take a deep breath and relax. Ain't gonna be a rash of faggot uprisings or anything. It's safe to unlock your chastity belts.

OK, I found it--and it's an eleven-month-old report.

You must be pretty bored to dig out an eleven-month-old report to post, guy. But I can see why you wouldn't cite it, as somebody would then point out that you're pulling up eleven-month-old reports, which isn't all that bright.

But, no, I don't see the need to teach some sort of separate track history. If it's relevant to what somebody did that they are gay, just mention it and move on. as far as I'm concerned.

I think it depends. I found this:

"1. The law will add to current curricula discussion of LGBT figures and events, like the Society for Human Rights—one of America's first gay rights groups, established in Chicago in 1924—
2. and astronaut Sally Ride, the first woman in space and the first known lesbian astronaut, CNN reports."

I agree with 1, because it's a human rights/history issue.

But 2 is ludicrous. Why should her being a woman (and even better: a woman who fucks other women) give her precedence over other more talented people?

What in the hell do you mean by this? What more talented people? Where is talent mentioned. She's notable as being the first American woman in space, and you read that yourself. It's a recognized milestone.

A milestone that deserves to be mentioned in passing, for no more than 5-10 minutes.
The rest of time should be allocated based on merit.

Otherwise, we're entering the era of Meritocracy of the genitals.
