...and the like.

Have any of you cunts restored any furniture with chalk paint 'n stuff? I've bought some Annie Sloan chalk paint and gold gilding wax. Going to experiment with a pic frame, then if I don't fuck it up I'm going to try doing the fire surround and a big mirror.

Post any pics if you can. :)

Mona you've inspired me, I tried the gilding wax again, on a picture frame...not so bad this time. Dries in quick.

Due you have Farrow & Ball paint over there? The bloody names are hilarious. My kitchen cupboards are going to be done in Mole's Breath (wtf) and the trim in Wevet. Which apparently is an old Dorset word for spider web...not sure how I feel about that. 🕸️

Defiling furniture is not "restoring" it.

Furniture should be made of wood and look like -wood.

Me & Mona like to distress old things even more. Then gild the lily a bit. We're going into business in September.

You bet your sweet booty we are. They’ll come from miles and miles, from far and wide to take a gander at our goods.

Nope, not that Ive ever noticed. We have Annie Sloan and a lot of knock offs. Good stuff

I’ve dyed fabric with tea. Put about 40 tea bags in a large pot, bring to a simmer and leave them for about 10 minutes. Remove tea bags. Put fabric in for 10 minutes. Remove fabric into ice bath. Then put in a hot dryer and the dye will. E waterproof for washing etc.

THEN - you chalk paint through stencils or freehand designs. It’s amazingggggg. Will post some pics

Ive chalk painted lamp shades, fan blades, furniture (duh), Mirrors, candlesticks and chair cushions.

I've dipped some material in chalk paint and water, when it's dried I'll iron and see how it looks. Re covering kitchen chairs.

And then we’ll look at some distressed furniture.

Ba dum bum.

Got some new Sloan colours today Mona, Louis Blue and Svenska Blue. Samples for wardrobe and blanket chest. Might try the black wax on the carved bits of the chest too.

Never heard of "Chalk paint" unless you're describing what's known as "milk paint" here in the US.

"Spider web" is probably the same technique known as "crackle" here.

Pics would be helpful to see if I'm right.
