Name some thing that you didn't know until you knew it. Maybe something silly? Something obvious, something not so obvious?

c'mon it'll be fun!

(Let's see if this lil puppy sprouts wings, or burrows into the deep.)

I'll go first!

So, I didn't know that the average male orgasm lasts six seconds; the average female orgasm lasts twenty seconds.

Did you know cats get feline AIDS? I didn’t know this, picked up a stray yesterday and found out he has the cat AIDS and I cannot bring him home because he’ll give it to my other cat. Fuckitty fuck.

Elephantasia

Damn, I know tons of cool things, but I can't remember any of them.

Except for the one category of facts I never forget.

Elephant Facts!

  • Elephants live in complex matriarchal societies not dissimilar to tribes, with their own internal and external politics
  • Elephants might have some form of oral history: Individual elephants may forget, but the herd has a pretty amazing memory - in fact, as herds have been observed navigating their way back to water sources which no living member has visited, elephants may have some form of oral history
  • Like most mammals, elephants are fierce about protecting their young. An African elephant matriarch (supermom) is one of the few savannah animals that can defeat a lion one-on-one...
  • ... but they'll turn tail and run at the first sign of bees! They're terrified of them, because their stings get inside the sensitive skin at the end of their trunks. Farmers build apiaries to keep elephants off their crops!

Didn't cheat, I promise

Star Trek Trivia

- Warp-1 is the speed of light (186,000 Miles per second, or 0.67 trillion miles per hour)

- Impulse speed is 1/4 the speed of Warp-1.

- Warp-2 and above is calculated by cubing the warp number and multiplying by the speed of light. So, Warp-2 would be 2X2X2X186,000, or 5.4 trillion miles per hour.

In our galaxy, the average star is 5 light-years from each other, so to go to another solar system at warp-2 would take over 200 days.

And don't care if you cheated.
