It’s Sunday, which can lend itself to deep Spiritual moments or a lazy day where demands are few and far between.

How will your Sunday unfold? Will you be spiritually moved or will you have demands placed upon you? Perhaps the day is your own, the ability to do with as you please. Which of course begs the question, what do you please...?

Sunday is lazy day here. I catch up on laundry for the coming week, maybe some cleaning, but I'll mostly wait until tomorrow. sadly, the rain will not be lazy today. She's awake with a vengeance. So a good day for staying inside.

Sunday mornings I’m lazy until now*ish.
I’ve had my coffee in and outta bed.
Barely dressed.

There’s a loose list of to do’s today. I can tell you laundry isn’t on that list.
Or cleaning. Nope.
I’ll cook something fabulous, walk and go for a bike ride.
Tonight I’ll find something to wind down to. Or up, yeah that’s my preferred preference.

My Sundays vary from week to week. Today's began with a 4-mile fast walk at the park, then a stop on the way home for grilling supplies. Lunch will be with friends at a nice local restaurant with an outdoor dining patio, so no sitting inside which makes me happy. Then around five-ish, I'll fire up my grill, once it's going good I have two nice thick ribeye steaks and four pre-made seasoned hamburger patties ready to go on it. Later might include a bike ride.

I worked from morning until now—I’m burned out. It’s going to be one of those weeks. Oh well, I guess with 40 million people out of work I can’t complain. :)

Watched some Netflix, unpacked my suitcase, a little procession downtown. Just your normal Sunday.

I’ll pop in with a question for today.

Magicians and illusionists have been dazzling us for years.
Their skills perfected as they entertain and mystify audiences around the world.
Secrets kept tight as they master the art of visual deceptions and story-telling.

But if you knew all the secrets behind the big show, would you still be in awe?
Are you someone that wants to know the tricks of the trade or do you love the mystery in it all?

I'm a science guy....the only magic I believe in exists in the heart. So I immediately want to know how it's done, and mentally tear it all apart.

I'll enjoy the show...but I want to take a ratchet to all of it immediately.

For me, the magic is in the magic. I want to know how it’s done and I love seeing how the trickery can mesmerize an audience.

I’ve worked in entertainment for years and the joy for me is seeing the effect on the audience and knowing just how it’s done and admiring when someone else does it well.

As a movie guy, I kind of dislike CG effects because they just are what they are. I love practical effects, puppetry, real explosions, John Carpenter’s The Thing—when people had to be extra clever in how to pull off an effect. Even the old Godzilla movies, as bad as they are, they did some pretty clever work for what they were doing. And the miniatures were excellent.

Alfred Hitchcock was a master of figuring out how to pull off a moment that he didn’t really have the technology to pull off at the time. And the joy is in seeing just how ingenious his solutions were.

I am another who likes to know how it is done and find that knowing this presents the real show. You can really appreciated the technical skill and dexterity when you know what is being done, but the best part is seeing how the make it their own. The difference between a good magician and a great one is the creativity, ingenuity, and showmanship in how they reinvent and display the technical skills they have acquired. The technical skills are , of course, impressive and understanding them allows you to see the the skill level. However, it is the persona that makes the show. I find I am better able to appreciate the showmanship when I see past the technical aspect.

I figured out sometime back that if I wanted to enjoy a magicians or illusionist's performance then I had to not think about what was going on. Otherwise, I missed the fun of the whole experience.

Magic isn't in how you get tricked but in the fact that you can't quite figure it out. That state of quandary makes some people feel like a kid again - myself included. I love illusionists. Even now, while watching "Magic for Humans" I will try to figure out how he does it and might even ask you how you think he does it - but I don't really want to know :) The moment you know how it all works the magic is gone - though that doesn’t stop it from being a cool trick.

No. So, the saying is, it's still magic even if you know how it's done. Personally, that's not how I see it. I love the element of mystery. If I were to know the insides and outs.. the enchantment, the childhood nostalgia, and any other fantastical particular would cease to exist for me.

It's best if I let the magicians keep weaving their magic while I stay intrigued...

Be honest. Straight. No tricks. No filter. Raw.

Never liked Magicians and illusionists. But I do agree with you on this one. I think this isn't strictly connected with "magicians and illusionists" per se.

However, I do love the seduction "game" too. A lot actually. It's thrilling and enticing.

I’ve always liked the slight of hand magicians, More than the big showy Vegas style ones. I don’t really want to know all their tricks, but just really enjoy the skill behind it. The show Stacy mentioned below “Magic For Humans” Has sucked me in on more than one occasion!

I love the mystery of it all. Knowing how they do it sort of ruins it for me.

Kinda Like wheni see a really skinny, small framed woman with a really nice rack.

Gift from above?

Levers and pulleys?

Talented surgeon?

Duct tape and craft foam?

I'd rather just wonder...unless she wants to let me conduct a tactile study.

Blade, can you inspect the integrity of the stripper pole please? Make sure we installed it correctly?

(Someone’s gotta be the practical one ;) )
