Fox "news" Cannot Be Trusted

“I would say without question it’s the biggest decision I’ve ever had to make,” Donald Trump said on Friday, contemplating when and how he will relax physical distancing guidelines and reopen the American economy.

In one ear, he has medical experts pleading caution. In the other, Fox News urges the opposite.

The conservative TV network has been widely condemned for downplaying the threat of Covid-19 even as it took measures to protect its own staff. And with the projected death toll poised to avoid the worst-case scenario, some hosts are resuming their gung-ho attitude.

“At some point, the president is going to have to look at Drs Fauci and Birx and say, we’re opening on May 1,” Laura Ingraham tweeted this week. “Give me your best guidance on protocols, but we cannot deny our people their basic freedoms any longer.”

Tomi Lahren, a host on Fox Nation, added bluntly: “It’s time to start the reopen of America.”

The symbiotic relationship between the Trump administration and Fox News has long been chronicled. Ideas and personnel move back and forth. The president is a regular interviewee and the host Sean Hannity once spoke at a Trump rally.

It's not his call. He abrogated responsibility and has no credibility. The call is now deeper in the body politic. I know my own response won't be affected by any "decision" he makes.

Fox claims that the First Amendment gives them an unlimited right to lie, deceive and spread dangerous propaganda that may get people killed

The Washington League for Increased Transparency and Ethics (WASHLITE) filed a lawsuit against Fox news earlier this month seeking a court order barring the network from “interfering with reasonable and necessary measures to contain the virus by publishing further false and deceptive content.”

The suit accused the network of violating the state’s Consumer Protection Act by “falsely and deceptively disseminating ‘news’ via cable news contracts that the coronavirus was a ‘hoax’ and that it was otherwise not a danger to public health and safety.”

The suit specifically cited Fox News host Sean Hannity and former Fox Business host Trish Regan for having “acted in bad faith to willfully and maliciously disseminate false information denying and minimizing the danger posed by the spread of the novel coronavirus.”

Hannity downplayed the threat of the coronavirus and argued it was less dangerous than the flu. Regan was fired shortly after accusing Democrats of pushing a “coronavirus impeachment scam.”

Fox "news" has moved to dismiss a lawsuit filed by a Washington state group accusing the network of “deceptive” coronavirus coverage by arguing that the First Amendment protects “false” and “outrageous” speech.

Well, well, look who's inciting civil unrest

If you haven’t already done so, you should consider it your civic duty to suffer through 10 minutes per hour of Fox "news" during the prime time viewing window. Propaganda whores like Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham are scouring the gutters and sewers for a very particular kind of guest.

They are looking for the kind of inbred morons who are willing to go on national television and claim that the stay-at-home orders are literally destroying the American way of life! They stare earnestly into the camera that there is no empirical proof that social distancing has slowed the spread of the virus, maliciously laying a charge knowing full well that it’s impossible to disprove a negative.

Both Trump and the propaganda whores at Fox are playing on the fears and insecurities of the gullible. Right now, the protests in Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio are small and pretty much self contained. But as the sequestration continues, and it will, more anger, fear, and frustration will build. And a combination of news coverage of the small local protests, fueled by a constant indoctrination of bullshit from Fox, will only serve to drive more of the gullible into the streets. And at some point, Mayors and Governors are going to take steps to ensure public safety. And that’s when it will get messy, which is exactly what Fox is drooling over the prospect of covering live.

There is no longer any salient argument about the legitimacy of Fox "news" as a legitimate news organization. It has all of the legitimacy of Vladimir Putin, and the moral integrity of a loan shark. Throughout this crisis, Fox has enabled a public health crisis by constantly underplaying the severity of the crisis. And now, left unchecked, Fox will be happy to fuel a public safety crisis by inciting opposition to the very restrictions that are keeping people safe. Gee, I wonder if Trump and Fox will blame the Governors?

I used to watch CNN

Years ago I watched CNN but when Lou Dobbs went over to Fox I went with him. I still listen to CNN just for a good laugh but for serious news I like Fox and OAN. All the twisted crap about Hannity is bullshit. I would love to see you in a debate with Hannity. Nobody is perfect but he is very committed to truth. I think the ratings show that more people are waking up to what CNN has become.

But Fox is not perfect. I was so glad when Megan Kelly left. What a whore. And the Shepherd Smith creep was too sickening to watch for even a few minutes.

Former Trump supporter reveals how he was duped by Fox news Channel

Army veteran David Weissman said he learned much more about Donald Trump after the election than he did prior to voting — but first he attempted to explain why rabid supporters of the president have taken to the streets to protest the pandemic lockdown.

“A lot of this fear I mentioned about, a lot comes from propaganda from conservative networks downplaying the virus,” Weissman offered. “They don’t think the virus isn’t as serious as it really is and a lot of people do not believe in the numbers of the fatalities from the virus– we have Trump even called it a hoax, he called it a hoax for a long time. He waited until 70 days to finally act on it. You see people like Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, they were calling it a hoax. That’s why you have so many thinking that this is not as serious as it really is, why they have no problem going into public and protesting.”

Asked how he came to vote for Trump and then turn on him, he explained, “Well, I had a very interesting dialogue that pretty much changed my worldview with [comedian] Sara Silverman on Twitter. I learned a lot about values that liberals believe in, Democrats, even politicians like Obama and Hillary Clinton.”

“I learned a lot of the stuff I believed for many years that’s false, what in the real world is really going on,” he continued. “So, when my worldview changed, I learned who Trump really is. I realized he is not this patriotic businessman, you know. He had business failures, you know, he’s like not this — the person that Fox News and other media outlets made him out to be, he’s not that in real life. When I realized that, I learned that that’s not who I voted for — when I voted for Trump, I was picturing somebody else.”

No one uses the term "Foxy Mama" anymore. At one time that was a common term of endearment.

‘Cheap talk’: CNN guest slams Fox News ‘elites’ in home studios who push everybody else to go back to work

Dartmouth Professor Brendan Nyhan suggested that Fox News hosts broadcasting from their home studios are hypocrites if they are also urging viewers to go back to work.

“I wonder what you make of Fox News stars who are out there encouraging people resume their normal lives, get back to work while broadcasting from their homes, staying at home?” host Brian Stelter asked Nyhan on CNN’s Reliable Sources program on Sunday.

“I think you should watch what people do and not what they say,” Nyhan advised. “There are a lot of people sitting in their houses on webcams telling everyone they should go back out and resume their lives.”

“That’s cheap talk from elites who aren’t frontline workers,” he continued, “who aren’t in essential roles that put them at risk. And I think it’s really being tossed out casually, in an irresponsible manner.”

I never thought I would see a “news” channel in the United States where they praise the Russians and they attack America’s intelligence agencies.

If the Republicans from 40 years ago were still around, they’d storm the offices of Fox “news” Channel, and kill everyone who works there.

Well the Russians learned that socialism is a failed ideology and changed quite a bit.

(D)'s somehow missed or ignored the memo and embraced it and it's inherent anti-American politics.

So the (R)'s from 40 years ago would do no such thing, if anything they would be going after the (D)'s and their leaders in the CCP.

Which Trump is doing....thus all the squealing from the left. :D

Fortunately, there is a cure for the Democrat virus... Vote ALL Democrats OUT

See, a Trumpette can be trained (on the little stuff). Congrats on admitting I gotcha and dropping the "Now!" Now, if you could just stop trying to build up your own courage by repeating it over and over again and clicking your heels in some sort of false hope it means anything . . .

Black Fox News employees rebelling against network execs for letting hosts cater to white supremacists

The Fox News network has a rebellion brewing among Black employees who are furious that network executives have done nothing to rein in the on-air talent like Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham who have turned their shows into must-see TV for white supremacists.

In interviews with the Beast’s Lachlan Cartwright, Lloyd Grove, Andrew Kirell, Noah Shachtman and Justin Baragona, employees claim that there is internal turmoil at the headquarters of the conservative network over how African-Americans, the Black Lives Matter movement and Black victims of police shootings are being covered.

According to the report, the catalyst for the internal uprising came in the aftermath of a graphic shown on host Bret Baier’s show that showed a graphic showing stock market bounces after shootings of Black Americans topped newscasts — which the network promptly apologized for.

The report notes that four days after the offending graphic premiered on Baier’s show, executives held a conference call with Black employees who were still fuming over that incident as well as being angry with how African-Americans were being portrayed on prime time shows hosted by some of Fox’s most notable personalities.

your opening post, Schlank, woman of Beauty

I applaud your diligence in digging up transgressions FOX Propaganda has committed. Bur ask you this:

Do you believe honestly, that people who've been taken in by their propaganda, will listen to the facts you lay on the table? And people like me, who know how to recognize a propaganda machine, do not need your compilation.

But thank you for your diligence, anyway. Adam in Europe

Let us take a few minutes to discuss Fox news Channel and examine some of the reasons why they can’t be trusted.

There are many different approaches we could take to examine their untrustworthiness, but for this particular discussion we will examine their coverage of the infamous Osama bin Laden.

Back in the 1990’s President Bill Clinton was trying to sound the alarm about al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden, but all Fox news Channel could focus on was Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton’s penis. They even asserted that the August 1998 missile strikes he ordered against al Qaeda training camps in Sudan and Afghanistan were an effort to distract media attention away from Bill Clinton’s penis.

Sean Hannity criticized Clinton in 1998 for launching missile strikes against Al Qaeda camps in Afghanistan, which only narrowly missed killing Bin Laden. Hannity suggested that the timing of the strikes was due to "political motivation" and meant to be a distraction from the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Hannity insisted that Osama bin Laden wasn’t really a threat and that missile strikes against Osama bin Laden were just “wagging the dog.”

Republican Congressman Bob Barr went onto Fox “news” Channel and claimed that the 1998 missile strikes against al Qaeda were “an effort to divert some attention.”

That; of course; was BEFORE the September 11th terrorist attacks, AFTER the September 11th terrorist attacks, the talking heads at Fox news Channel were all accusing Bill Clinton of IGNORING al Qaeda!

Apparently thousands of dead Americans in a major American city, made it hard for Sean Hannity and other paid propagandists at Fox to continue claiming that Bill Clinton’s attempts to kill Osama bin Laden and roll back al Qaeda training camps was “wagging the dog”, so they attempted to rewrite history and claim that Bill Clinton NEVER tried to kill Osama bin Laden and that he NEVER did anything about al Qaeda training camps!

Sean Hannity (who had attacked Bill Clinton for launching missile strikes against al Qaeda camps in Afghanistan back in the 1990’s) tried to blame the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks on Bill Clinton, rather than George W. Bush, making it sound like Bill Clinton had somehow been ignoring Osama bin Laden during his eight years in office.

You see, the truth doesn’t matter to men like Sean Hannity. Sean Hannity is not a journalist. Sean Hannity is a trained attack dog that engages in dishonest assaults against Democrats as standard operating procedure. His job isn’t to report the news. His job is to spread rumor, innuendo and right-wing talking points, in an attempt to delegitimize Democratic leaders.

Hannity and his accomplices even dreamed up a story where the nation of Sudan offered up Osama bin Laden “on a silver platter” if America would simply remove economic sanctions against Sudan.

There has never been any evidence that the nation of Sudan ever made such an offer, and the story has been debunked many times, however Hannity continues to repeat this childish story.

When George W. Bush was in the White House, the stories Fox news told was just as revealing as the stories that they covered up.

An investigative journalist by the name of Greg Palast published an FBI memo that confirmed that the FBI was given orders to lay off the bin Laden family and other Saudi terror suspects during the early months of George W. Bush's rule.

Without these orders to halt investigations, the 9/11 terrorist attacks might have been averted.

Palast published this memo back in 2001, but Fox “news” Channel refused to report on this in any of their “news” broadcasts.

If Fox “news” had reported on this, it would have hurt the reputation of a Republican president, and Fox never does anything that would harm a Republican president. They only do things that will harm Democrats.

When Bush refused to testify under oath before the 9/11 Commission, refused to testify in public and refused to testify without Dick Cheney being there to help him, Fox “news” refused to point out the fact that they were obstructing the commission’s ability to get at the truth.

The executive director of the 9/11 Commission (Philip Zelikow), had conflicts of interest and as such should never have been in charge of the investigation. Zelikow had close ties with the White House and that he tried to influence the final report in ways that the staff often perceived as limiting the Bush administration’s responsibility and furthering its anti-Iraq agenda. This was very relevant news that the American public should have known about, but Fox “news” covered it up.

Zelikow also stopped the Commission staff from submitting a report depicting Rice's and Bush's performance as "amounting to incompetence or something not far from it", but you would never learn about that if you got all of your news from Fox.

The Bush White House attempted to stonewall the creation of the commission and to hamstring its work from the outset. When Bush terrorism "czar" Richard Clarke could no longer be prevented from testifying about his urgent warnings over the summer of 2001 to Rice about the imminent threat of terrorist attack on US soil, White House counsel Alberto Gonzales and his aides feverishly drafted tough questions and phoned them in to Republican commissioners to undermine Clarke's credibility."

Initially Bush refused to establish a 9/11 Commission at all. When the pressure and the demands became too great he eventually authorized the creation of one, however, he imposed a very short deadline on them and he made certain that they had insufficient funds (3 million dollars).

Fox “news” never called Bush out for the way that he hamstrung the 9/11 Commission and they tried to make the case that the Republicans were the only political party that could keep America safe.

In 2002, George W. Bush dismissed Osama bin Laden as unimportant, saying that he “didn’t know” where Osama bin Laden was and that he was “truly am not that concerned about him”.

George W. Bush never brought Osama bin Laden to justice and in 2006, Bush shut down the intelligence unit that had been tasked with hunting Osama bin Laden and his top lieutenants since 1996.

The unit, known as Alec Station, had been formed back in 1996, before Osama bin Laden became a household name, back when Bill Clinton was president, and the threats posed by Osama bin Laden were taken seriously.

This should have been HUGE news, but the talking heads at Fox didn’t think that this story was important enough to pay attention to. Bush basically abandoned the hunt for Osama bin Laden, and the paid propagandists at Fox acted as if this wasn’t newsworthy.

However, the story doesn’t end there.

Barack Obama didn’t follow Bush’s example of abandoning the hunt for Osama bin Laden. President Obama authorized America’s intelligence agencies to track down Osama bin Laden’s location and eventually they were able to locate him in a compound in Pakistan.

President Obama chaired a number of National Security Council meetings to discuss an operation to raid bin Laden's compound in an effort to either kill or capture bin Laden. And in 2011, President Obama greenlit the raid that hit Osama bin Laden’s compound and killed Osama bin Laden without the loss of a single American life.

This was HUGE news, and all over the world news outlets celebrated President Obama’s success, however Fox “news” was reluctant to give President Obama credit.

Sean Hannity declared that there was “no way this would have happened, but for the policies of George W. Bush”.

Eric Bolling declared that we should "Thank GWB For This Not BHO!"

Karl Rove declared that “"Important Policy Decisions Made Under Bush" Made Bin Laden's Death Possible.”

Hannity, Bolling and Rove were all paid propagandists for Fox “news”. They ignored Bush’s negligence and incompetence and declared that somehow Bush was a great leader who made great strides in getting Osama bin Laden, when in point of fact, Bush abandoned the hunt for bin Laden years before Barack Obama had even been sworn into office.

Over and over again, we see Fox news covering up for the incompetence, negligence and ineffectiveness of Republicans, while making up stories to defame, demonize and delegitimize Democrats.

These people engage in fiction, rumor-mongering, propaganda and deliberately leading millions of Americans to erroneous conclusions. Why are they allowed to continue calling themselves a NEWS channel?

Hannity hands Trump a softball question about Kamala Harris and Trump loses his damn mind

On Tuesday, Trump called in to talk to his bestie, Sean Hannity of Fox News. While the show ran, Trump rambled about this and that and this and that … and this and that.

Hannity and the rest of the misinformation propaganda wing of the Republican Party’s job when interviewing any official is to tee up softball questions that allow said official to go right into a (usually) pre-rehearsed set of talking points. This job is considerably tougher when the official being interviewed is Donald Trump. Trump is a man with a mediocre mind and an aversion to reading I’ve only seen from a 6-year-old who wants to watch Ninjago. This means that craven mouthpieces like Hannity must tee up the softball questions, usually with the actual talking point included, in the hopes that Trump will remember the words and repeat them.

On Tuesday night, Trump didn’t take the miles of runway Sean Hannity laid out for him and instead treated the world to a ramble so incoherent, a saner Republican Party would have him impeached on its transcript alone.

Pepsi joins the chorus of people dunking on Tucker Carlson over Kamala Harris

The Pepsi soda company mocked Fox News personality Tucker Carlson on Friday evening.

On Tuesday, Carlson flipped out after a guest attempted to teach him how to pronounce the name of Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), who is running for vice president on Joe Biden’s ticket.

Video of the exchange was posted on Twitter by Nikki McCann Ramirez, a researcher at the watchdog group Media Matters for America.

Pepsi spends alot on ads, but not on stupid Tucker. :)
