Fox "news" Cannot Be Trusted

Which plate? Canada has delivered on it's NATO commitments, peace keeping commitments, with the exception of the invasion of Iraq, has been there fighting and dying along side the US, and we came to your aid on 9/11.

Last military accomplishment from the US to Canada was an invasion in 1812 ( though it was a British colony at that time). Oh and you lost btw.

You guys show up in 1917 to WW1 while Canada had been there since 1914, you didn't "save the world from Germany" then, the German Generals wanted to sue for peace before the Dough-boys even landed in England, the Kaiser refused and forced the war on for almost 18 months. How many millions of lives may have been saved if the US had got off of it's ass earlier?

Lets move on to WW2, people like you, forced FDR to work behind the back of the people, it wasn't until Japan attacked Pearl Harbour that people like you said, "oh wait, maybe we should be fighting in this war." The late entry of the US to WW2 cost several million casualties, compared to if you had entered in 1939 as the rest of us did.

Now you have the audacity to cry from your pulpit that we are the greatest military might on the planet. Yet back in the day when it was needed, and you were not the most powerful military, the same version of you would be saying oh we shouldn't get involved.

Maybe your country should have stepped up to the plate too back then, eh? I know full well Canada did.

No one enters into war quickly unless it means a quick resolution. The US ended WW1. And liberated Europe in WW2, along with help from the allies. Canada's population is around 10% of ours, so I'm sure not much was expected.

LOL too funny, go live in your dream world where Trump rules, and Foxnews is the only media you can trust.

As to the military history, you should really try and educate yourself, Russia figured they could just walk all over Afghanistan, which has a much smaller population.
Oh wait isn't that the same country where you guys have been fighting with for 18 years now? Kind of a long term war, that you guys entered pretty quickly wasn't it? *chuckles*

The US didn't end WW1 the Germans surrendered, their country was bankrupt, the battle lines had not changed in almost four years. Due to this stagnation the fiscal drain had tapped the German treasury. The Kaiser had been warned in late 1916 of this. He however refused to negotiate an end. With the Russian revolution of 1917 and finally the entry of the US into the war, the German government finally entered into negotiations in the spring of 1918. They didn't have much choice, they couldn't even pay their soldiers by this point in time.;)

As to the Americans, they came over, and went to the front, and got slaughtered. The American generals wouldn't listen to the battle season Generals of the British, French and Canadians... There have been military historians who came up with figures that say 60-80% of the American casualties could have been avoided, if the American leadership had followed the advice given them. :D

As to WW2, I'd say Patton liberated Europe and dragged the Allies along with him.:)

As to winning the war, Russia did that, if Stalin, or Hitler had ended the eastern front, allowing Germany to only fight on the western front, WW2 would have been a whole other story.

BTW, the only group to secure their beach head, and meet their objective on DDay was the Canadians. Given our 10% population of the US, we out performed you all that day, and as a percentage of population of our country we sent more troops over, than the US did, as a percentage of your population.

This is a sex site, maybe go look for some. That might be an arena where you can compete, in the debate side of things, your ignorance and arrogance shows through just like your epidermis. :rose:

How old are you? I believe history is taught differently by country and generation.

How old are you? I believe history is taught differently by country and generation.

Let us just say I have been around for 11 of your presidents.

And you are correct history is taught differently by country and generation.

However I am not going by a school book here, I am going by historical facts, of which you seem to be lacking.

Go find someone to Dom or what ever it is you pretend to do, again your outclassed, and don't even know it.

Oh and the 1975 has nothing to do with a birth year, old Conager fell into that one, I slaughtered him too.

The childish talking heads over at Fox “news” Channel threw puerile temper tantrums and went on the attack yesterday after Republican Senator Mitt Romney voted to convict Trump in his impeachment trial.

Tucker Carlson childishly refused to say Romney’s name on his show.

“That senator shall go unnamed on this show on the grounds that silly moral preening should not be rewarded with the publicity it is designed to garner.,”

“Clearly, losing a presidential election ruins people,” said the “Hannity” host, a reliable Trump defender who has had abandoned any pretense of journalistic ethics and has promised to campaign for the president’s reelection. He later suggested Romney “clearly cannot accept and get over the fact he lost” the 2012 presidential election to former President Barack Obama.

“The difference between him (Romney) and Donald Trump is Donald Trump fought every single day, was tough, and tough enough to win,” Hannity added.

Laura Ingraham, meanwhile, demanded Romney quit the Senate.

“Mitt, you made your stand. Now you should resign,” the cable personality said. “You committed a fraud on the people of Utah, on the Republican Party, on the Constitution and have thoroughly embarrassed yourself.”

Laura Ingraham says Mitt Romney should resign: "You committed a fraud on the people of Utah, on the Republican Party, on the Constitution.”

Maybe Romney should run a third-party campaign in the presidential election (The Conservative Party of the real Republicans?). Wonder how the Faux commentators would like that. What would that likely do to Trump?

‘No kidding’: Fox News slammed after bombshell report they knew they were booking liars on air

Following a report from The Daily Beast that a researcher at Fox News circulated an internal document warning against booking several purveyors of “disinformation” including President Donald Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani, reporter John Solomon, and married right-wing legal team Joseph DiGenova and Victoria Toensing, commenters on social media exploded.

Many took to Twitter to point out that the document proves Fox News knew the people they were booking on their programs were liars — and did it anyway:

Everyone wins, it's the whole point and advantage of having 50 states instead of a single unitary state run by 1 size fits all governance.

That's interesting you say that because the states with an outsize amount of federal power tend to be red states with very small populations. So if a red state with a population less than say Rhode Island (that'd be red states like the Dakotas and Wyoming [Montana is right there too]) then it doesn't get done.

In other words a minority can spoil things for the majority even if those things (Medicare for all, Green New Deal, etc.) would benefit the minority greatly.

As always bot your racist logic is fool proof!

YOu're unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You fool that's the only station that can be trusted. Stop drinking the cool aid and grow the fuck upi!

Fox is too lamestream for me. I prefer the GB to keep me informed.

Master of false news gives right-wing Americans headlines they believe

Christopher Blair produces false stories he insists are easily identifiable as satire rather than news. His pages can rack up millions of views, and at least part of that audience believes the material is true.

Blair, 48, runs eight websites and five Facebook pages from his home in the northeastern US state of Maine. He says the claims his articles make are “ridiculous,” such as that President Donald Trump’s current term could be extended by three years.

But his content is widely shared by people who take it as fact, contributing to the spread of false information online.

Blair — a self-described “liberal troll” and political activist — says he knows what to write for his right-wing “target audience” through years of “being embedded in their world.”

Trump Chumps can't tell satire from Shinola! :D:D:D

‘Communist’ FOX network angers Trump fans at Daytona 500 by cutting to commercial as he begins speech

The FOX broadcast network seemingly snubbed the president of the United States on Sunday when it cut to commercial while he was speaking.

Viewers complained on Twitter that FOX Sports cut away prior to President Donald Trump’s campaign-style speech at the Daytona 500, where he was named grand marshal.

FOX’s cameras were also criticized for cutting away from Trump’s lap at the Daytona 500 in his presidential limo. Instead, fans were treated to a commercial from Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg.

Fox Sports trolling Trump Chumps!:D:D:D

Donald Trump just handed Democrats an issue that should end the entire 2020 election.

He just proposed cutting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid by more than $1.7 trillion—breaking one of his most famous campaign promises.

Going after senior citizens who always vote, just months before a reelection? That's political suicide.

Nearly three-quarters of Americans oppose cutting in Medicare and Social Security, but if you only got your news from Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Stuart Varney, you'd think that “entitlement reform”—their code for cutting Social Security and Medicare—is downright popular.

Over the past 22 years, beginning in 1996, Fox News has risen from a network with some bad intentions to an outright propaganda machine for President Trump and his administration. The network uses fear mongering and sometimes ignores basic journalistic standards.

For example, the false reporting in 2017 which added fuel to the conspiracy theories that Hillary Clinton had Seth Rich, a former Democratic National Committee staffer killed because he leaked campaign secrets. The Fox report was eventually retracted.

The Washington Post reminds that Fox News also fueled “birtherism” which is the racist lie about the birthplace of former president Barack Obama. More, the prominent Fox personality Sean Hannity is a confidant of President Trump and consistently reports in his favor.

Covered by the First Amendment, which promises freedom of speech, Fox News can do anything it wants to do while on air. Yet, there will be consequences. Democracy must be based on a shared set of facts, not a destructive set of lies. Generally, when news stations misstep in this sense, they try to correct themselves. Fox News does not do the same. It does not seem to have an ethics and standards department, and it does not publish its ethical guidelines as some other news stations do.

The Murdoch family, which owns Fox News, took precautions against the new coronavirus as the network’s hosts downplayed the risk posed by the pandemic on TV.

The family abruptly canceled Fox News Chairman Rupert Murdoch’s 89th birthday party at his California estate on March 8 “out of concern for the patriarch’s health,” according to The New York Times’ Ben Smith.

Smith previously reported that Lachlan Murdoch, who runs the news network, “knew the virus was coming” in January, because he was “getting regular updates from the family’s political allies and journalists in his father’s native Australia.”

Around the same time, Fox News executives issued an internal memo instructing staffers to work from home and take precautions to deal with a “crisis of this magnitude.”

Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott said in a memo this week that six of the network’s staffers have tested positive for COVID-19.

“We expect to continue receiving reports of more positive tests given New York is now at the epicenter,” the memo said, according to Deadline. “The vast majority of our workforce is now telecommuting so they have not had to weather the issues around each positive case.”
But as Fox News executives worried about the impact of the virus, the network assured viewers, who could be at risk of severe illness from the virus because they are are disproportionately elderly, that the outbreak was no worse than the common flu.

Echoing President Donald Trump’s attempts to downplay the threat of the virus, the network’s hosts assured the audience the problem was not serious.

Some Fox News hosts seized on Trump’s claim that the media coverage of the virus was a “hoax” to bring down his presidency. Fox hosts accused the media of pushing “false, fear-based narratives” are “driv[ing] coronavirus panic.”

Fox News reportedly fears its early downplaying of COVID-19 leaves it open to lawsuits

Fox Business announced Friday that it has "parted ways" with Trish Regan, a prime time host who gained notoriety for suggesting on her March 9 show that the COVID-19 coronavirus was a politically motivated "scam." The decision "took some journalists and anchors at the network by surprise," The New York Times reports, because "Fox executives are accustomed to withstanding public pressure, and rarely make personnel moves that can be construed as validating criticisms of the network."

Fox Business wished Regan the best and said the network "will continue our reduced live primetime schedule for the foreseeable future" to focus on "the coronavirus crisis." On MNSBC Sunday morning, Vanity Fair's Gabriel Sherman said ousting Regan appears to be part of a larger effort to limit legal liability tied to the disconnect between Fox's public and private responses to the pandemic.

In early March, "Fox News tried to do their original playbook, which was dismiss it as a hoax, say that this is another partisan attempt by Democrats to hurt Donald Trump, and this was the case where they could not prevent reality," Sherman said. "Fox News is a very powerful media organization, but it cannot stop people from dropping dead." He added:"

When I've been talking to Fox insiders over the last few days, there's a real concern inside the network that their early downplaying of the coronavirus actually exposes Fox News to potential legal action by viewers who maybe were misled and actually have died from this."

show that the COVID-19 coronavirus was a politically motivated "scam."

Fox "News" viewers love getting scammed. They elected an orange Nazi who went bankrupt owning casinos in New Jersey and is more than willing to let them die in droves all so he can continue to line his pockets with their money.

Brainwashed by Fox, some Americans are put at risk. Gaslighting has become a pyrotechnic show

At the local retirement community, the same: the only show on the TV anywhere is Fox News, at all hours. In public spaces and beyond.

In an editorial written for the New York Times, Kara Swisher expresses a similar feeling:

But she was not concerned — and it was clear why. Her primary source of news is Fox. In those days she was telling me that the Covid-19 threat was overblown by the mainstream news media (note, her daughter is in the media). She told me that it wasn’t going to be that big a deal. She told me that it was just like the flu.

Swisher’s mother isn’t alone. In a Washington Post piece that was published today, it comes right back up—those who watch Fox News believed the story was overhyped, and still have doubts about COVID-19.

That’s striking: Nearly eight in 10 in the Fox group say the media has exaggerated coronavirus risks. By contrast, only 35 percent in the MSNBC group say this, while 54 percent in the CNN group do — which is high, but not nearly comparable with the Fox group.

What’s troubling about this is that as a general matter, the media mostly got it right in drawing intense and urgent attention to the coronavirus early on in a manner that Trump and his media allies did not.

These numbers, as the Post notes, were from mid-March. I’ve heard the same in my own state, from the same Fox News viewers. Why? Because the rhetorical shift came too late—and it’s already shifting again.

Fox News, who began by calling COVID-19 a hoax, then embraced it, then pointed out how great Trump was in handling it, and now they’re back on the attack, calling—as Trump does—for more attention to be paid to the economy over the virus.

Vox summed it up this way:

"People who tuned in on Monday may have been convinced that exchanging humans lives for better GDP and jobs numbers is a reasonable trade-off for policymakers to consider, or that unproven drugs can save them if they get sick."

My mother, a lifetime smoker in poor health living in a rural community, still wonders whether “this may be really overblown.” A local business owner told his employees in a meeting that they should stock up on the drugs that “the President recommended.”

Why do these things happen? It’s simple: Fox News sells fake news like a dealer, knowing that their users will rarely ask questions, and when they have to reverse themselves, they do it with no explanation.

Fox commentators claim liberals didn’t take coronavirus seriously enough — after weeks of downplaying it themselves

On Friday, The Daily Beast published an analysis of how some Fox News stars have gone from denying that coronavirus was a serious threat, to attacking Democrats for supposedly being the ones who didn’t take it seriously in the first place.

“Like many of his Fox colleagues, Hannity suddenly changed his tune late last month on the virus after President Donald Trump finally pivoted to treating it seriously,” wrote Justin Baragona. “The Fox star and unofficial Trump adviser has since taken aim at Democrats and critics who have rightly called out his previous coverage, claiming that all along he was the one warning of the coming disaster while they were the ones turning a blind eye. But despite Hannity’s perceived confidence in his coronavirus coverage, video and audio recordings do exist. The Fox star spent weeks misleadingly comparing the deadly virus to the seasonal flu while claiming Democrats were ‘politicizing and actually weaponizing an infectious disease’ to ‘bludgeon’ Trump.”

This week, however, Hannity devoted time on his TV and radio shows to blasting New York Times writer Kara Swisher for criticizing Fox News’ dismissal of the virus threat, saying, “if she actually watched our coverage and cared about the truth … she would know that we reported without fear from the very beginning,” selectively quoting a handful of Times op-eds that were skeptical of the virus and of Chinese travel restrictions, and saying “Maybe [Swisher’s mother] had a planned trip [to China]! If she was listening to her daughter’s newspaper at the time, that would have been a really, really, really dumb idea.”

Another Fox personality taking this line is “The Five” co-host Jesse Watters, who recently proclaimed on his show, “Not too long ago, [New York Gov. Andrew] Cuomo was saying go eat out in New York City. [Mayor Bill] de Blasio had all of the schools open. Nancy Pelosi said bring your friends to Chinatown and go to the bars. Joe Biden said the travel ban was racist.” In fact, all of those Democrats were urging the federal government to act against the virus for weeks before Trump took it seriously.

Conversely, one person who recently wasn’t so concerned about coronavirus was … Jesse Watters.

“If I get it, I’ll beat it,” said Watters on a March 3 broadcast. “I’m not lying. It’s called the power of positive thinking, and I think America needs to wake up to that.” He added, “I live in Manhattan, I got off work the other night, went straight to the subway. Asian guy sits down to me — mask on. What do I do? Finish the ride, then I go home and I order Chinese food. I’m not afraid of the coronavirus and no one else should be that afraid either.”

WATCH: Dr. Anthony Fauci stomps all over Fox & Friends after they challenge him by quoting Dr. Oz

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, slapped down the hosts of “Fox & Friends” on Friday after they challenged his medical opinions by quoting Dr. Oz.

During an interview on the Fox News morning show, co-host Steve Doocy asked Fauci why more doctors in other countries were prescribing hydroxychloroquine to treat coronavirus than doctors in the United States.

Doocy then played a clip of Dr. Mehmet Oz hyping hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19, as he claimed that it had produced a “statistically significant improvement in recovery from fever, from cough, and in pneumonia as well.”

Fauci, however, was not buying it.

“That was not a very robust study,” he replied. “It is still possible that there is a beneficial effect, but the study just quoted… that’s not overwhelmingly strong.”

Is "Dr. Oz" a doctor or does he just play one? I like to play doctor too. :);)

“I would say without question it’s the biggest decision I’ve ever had to make,” Donald Trump said on Friday, contemplating when and how he will relax physical distancing guidelines and reopen the American economy.

In one ear, he has medical experts pleading caution. In the other, Fox News urges the opposite.

The conservative TV network has been widely condemned for downplaying the threat of Covid-19 even as it took measures to protect its own staff. And with the projected death toll poised to avoid the worst-case scenario, some hosts are resuming their gung-ho attitude.

“At some point, the president is going to have to look at Drs Fauci and Birx and say, we’re opening on May 1,” Laura Ingraham tweeted this week. “Give me your best guidance on protocols, but we cannot deny our people their basic freedoms any longer.”

Tomi Lahren, a host on Fox Nation, added bluntly: “It’s time to start the reopen of America.”

The symbiotic relationship between the Trump administration and Fox News has long been chronicled. Ideas and personnel move back and forth. The president is a regular interviewee and the host Sean Hannity once spoke at a Trump rally.
