Today, let’s talk about unlikely crushes. This is a discussion that I’ve had with a friend before... who are the people that you like that may not necessarily be traditionally attractive? But you’re drawn to them anyway. It doesn’t mean they’re ugly. Just maybe not beautiful in the traditional sense.
Wow. It’s clearly been far too long. While things seem to be turning around here a bit seems like this thread could use a little guidance from the OP. So, here goes:
As a cool spring rain falls today, it makes me think of glass half full /half empty. Sure, it ruins a weekend day where I’d love to be outside but it will help green things up, soak in some grass seed, and refresh things in general. But why do we tend to look at things in binary terms. Good or bad, sad or happy, can’t things be both? Can’t that which is A also be B? Life is full of gray, rarely is there black and white so why are we so predisposed to forcing it?
Never knew he was a heartthrob. The cult is/was an underrated band. Btw, if I don't find a barber open soon, my hair is gonna look like that. (Cool when you are 20, nosomuch @50)

Noooo I had no idea!!He really is. Did you know he writes books? Rumple Buttercup. cute book
Noooo I had no idea!!
I am definitely checking that off, thank you
I agree with you. Life is all about the gray.
I think we’re predisposed to categorize into white/black from our caveman days. Will this berry kill me? Or not? Is there a bear in there? Or not?
The older i get, the less I see things in black and white. I am able to appreciate the grey.
I found it from his slightly creepy web sitehttp://www.matthewgraygubler.com/webpage/
Some are stuck in a box where routine runs their lives. It’s safe, some are terrified of rocking the boat and it’s easy to just go with the flow. Living in grey takes effort and courage, moving your way through life and not worrying about pleasing everyone.
Will a decision some stupid moron makes end up killing my daughter? Who will take care if her if I die? How do I cut my budget even more so she doesn't know what it feels like to go hungry as I did growing up? Yep...caveman days...
I do not see the grey as I used to. Funny...it wasnt my choice to change. Right...wrong...honesty...lies..*****...death...
I think it is the difference between the idealism of youth...and the reality of life. Grey makes us feel better for our choices, but it doesn't move the dial one direction or the other.
As far as black and white...
I think it’s easy for us to desire binary answers. Yes or No. it’s why, when you ask questions to a person in conversation, we need to ask open ended question if you want more.
We crave definition and clarity. Growing up we learn yes/no, right/wrong, etc. so when grey and middle ground comes up, it shifts our paradigm. And we want consistency.
If we didn’t have grey all those amazing theories and what if’s might not have happened. If we only accept black and white we don’t challenge our thinking.
I think gray does move the needle. If black moves it 100, and white moves it 0, wouldn’t gray at 50 be better than white at 0? We may not get it all but isn’t some better than none?

I love challenged thinking. But if we accept black, does that mean we’ve also accepted its opposite white? Or have we simply denied it as an option?
Side bar topic: Gray vs. Grey. Where, when, why. Go!
