The man is clearly suffering from dementia and his energy level is greatly diminished. Should Democrats be worried? Should party leaders push him out while there’s still time? Or is it too late? Can the party rally around an alternative candidate? If so, who? Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Newest poll among women:

Biden: 56%

Trump: 36%

You figure it out.

Stated that way, Trump and Biden should pull out together. Surely you aren't suggesting that Biden pull out for being a fraction of what Trump is across the board, right? That would be candy ass hypocritical, wouldn't it?

I'm pretty sure Republicans are worried. And you're sounding scared shitless. :D

The concerns expressed by prominent Democrats such as Cory Booker and Julian Castro, and their media allies such as Andrea Mitchell and Chris Mathews pertain to Biden’s obvious cognitive decline. In recent months he has forgotten what state he’s in, when he served as Vice President, confused his wife for his sister, and had rambled incoherently in speeches and interviews, all before tv cameras.

This thread is to answer questions about Biden’s fitness, not about Trump. Plenty of other threads address that topic. You seem confident the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee is going to be able to withstand the rigors of the campaign. Fair enough. Thanks for responding to my questions. Look forward to hearing from others.

Well, yes, you think that, being a candy ass hypocritical Trumpette. But this thread will be about whatever it's about. Trump is the champion sexual predator so there's no separating those two, Bubba.

No Worries. You are not alone in your lack of enthusiasm for Fingers Joe Dementia. Probably best for you to stick to thread topics you’re more comfortable with.

Hey, how about that sexual predator, Donald Trump, whose own secretary of state called a moron and characterizations of the murderous clown have only gone down into the depths of his insanity since then. :D

I think Republicans are creating a rod for their own back with this whole Biden-has-dementia thing. He clearly doesn’t have dementia, in my opinion. He has, to use a rather tired phrase, 'lost a step’, and he's never been the most coherent speaker, but I don’t think he's going senile.

The problem for Republicans is they'll keep on saying shit like this and then when Biden puts in a perfectly competent debate performance against Trump (who is NOT a great debater) they will have set the bar so low, they will have helped Biden look incredibly dynamic and impressive.

I remember people saying similar stuff about the vice-presidential debate in 2012. Everyone was lauding Paul Ryan as this great intellect, and saying Biden would get humiliated. Then, five minutes into the debate, it was clear that Biden was a very experienced debater, and Paul Ryan was an empty suit.

In the same way Trump gets graded on a curve, the Right is setting themselves up for a fall with all this.

Dementia is yet another very stupid subject for Trumpettes to bring up. We can all see how far out of it Donald Trump is. Every time they bring the subject up, we're going to be talking about Donald Trump too.

I don't think either one of them are with it. I look at who they'll have in office with them. And it's no contest. We've all since the Trump revolving dope circus in action.

Typical Republican dirty trick, always hitting the Democrats in what appears to be their strongest suit. They tried it with Tara Reade and she turned out to be about as factually dependable as The Onion, so now it's on to projecting Trump's greatest weaknesses onto Biden.

Mind you, BabyBoomer50s, with the polls showing Biden leading Trump everywhere that it matters, I'm not at all surprised to see you think Biden ought to drop out.

Except it’s not just Republicans. Many prominent people on the left have been talking about the severity of his mental lapses.

That's irrelevant to why you're here posting, though, isn't it? You are a Swiftboating Trumpette--and a candy ass hypocritical one, considering the demonstrated mental condition of your guy.

Only by your rather generous definition of "talking about the severity of his mental lapses". You're just applying that to any Democrat who has expressed any concern whatsoever.

You should trademark deflection and whataboutism. :)

If Joe Biden can still find the target ain't no way he is pulling out.

On the left, it's been mostly Bernie Bros who have been harping on about Biden's 'dementia', and that was because they were opposed to his candidacy.

I can see that Republicans are going to try and hammer away at this; it may well be the only chance they have to try and win the election, if the health and economic crisis continues to go badly. But I think it may prove to be a strategic mistake.

If I was a Democrat, I wouldn’t be ecstatic about Biden as a candidate. It's a pretty damning indictment that both parties' candidates are men in their 70s, neither of whom seem entirely compos mentis. But I believe Biden is an infinitely better choice than Trump, who is a dangerously incompetent buffoon. And a crook to boot.

Joe Biden for... you know THE THING!

I wouldn't assume that alone won't be enough to elect him. Not that the Dems should rest on their laurels or anything, but opposition to Trump is sufficiently widespread and intense that it may well be all they need.
