Why are people trying to smear Anthony Fauci?

This explains Bill Gates to me.
Because over the last weeks I saw his name in all sorts of publications, pontificating about 'don't blame China' or advice on how to manage pandemics or global warming.
-- So inappropriate.
Who does this guy think he is?
He's clever at what he did and has money, but he's neither a doctor, nor an emeritus professor in economics, to meddle in and 'advise' experts.

Aaah, that's why. Follow the money.

But not Fauci.
He might be on the Bill Gates/Gilleard Board, but probably to advise on how to produce the best and safest medications.
So what are your worries? Does he have some shares or conflict of interest?

The bill & Melinda Gates foundation was founded with $40B, it is now worth $60B. They have a portfolio of businesses that they "donate" to, and then those businesses "donate" to the Gates foundation. And all these donations are tax free. That’s why Uber rich people like starting non-profits, they are cash cows. It’s a known secret... a secret to the plebs.

About Fauci.
Have you ever heard people talking about the revolving door between congress & lobby? Most congress members get jobs with the firms that lobbied them when they become ex-congress. Lots of people joke about how being a congress member is how you build your resume to get a sweet lobbying job, they call em k-street whores. Trump got legislation through that requires ex-congress members wait 3 years before taking a job with lobbying firms.

What Fauci is doing, getting paid to "advise", and then touting Gilead in the political pulpit. Some people see that as a conflict of interest, or government picking winners based on who can line their pockets the most. I understand that argument.

Makes perfect sense to me that the founder of Microsoft would know more about viruses than anyone else.

Exactly. Cash cows and a nice way to travel for on "foundation" business.

Bill Gates is a true renaissance man with the capability to be an expert in every scientific field.

There are these data that makes remdesivir look promising:

Preliminary results indicate that patients who received remdesivir had a 31% faster time to recovery than those who received placebo (p<0.001). Specifically, the median time to recovery was 11 days for patients treated with remdesivir compared with 15 days for those who received placebo. Results also suggested a survival benefit, with a mortality rate of 8.0% for the group receiving remdesivir versus 11.6% for the placebo group (p=0.059).

But then there is this in a peer-reviewed journal:

In this study of adult patients admitted to hospital for severe COVID-19, remdesivir was not associated with statistically significant clinical benefits. However, the numerical reduction in time to clinical improvement in those treated earlier requires confirmation in larger studies.

And there is also this.

Still, if I had COVID-19 (or my parent did) at this time (until something more promising is identified), I would probably want this drug. But it's not a magic pill.

I should have said "cash cow with the face of a charitable angel."

It’s more than just travel. Living expenses, 401k, medical, etc.
Capital gains tax avoidance, estate tax avoidance, charitable donation tax avoidance. You could say the taxpayer is subsidizing these multi billionaires’ lifestyles.

Congress passed a bill that disallowed the funding of Hydroxychloroquin. That means there won’t be any research on if it actually helps.

I guess that’s fair since it is an old drug that has gone generic.

Funding it would have been a boon for Africa.

Right now there are >150 clinical trials that are actively testing hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19, including more than 40 in the U.S. (Source: clinicaltrials.gov)

Good to know it is still being researched without government funding.

Sounds like a bunch of smart lawyers figured a way to get around the tax law. So what? If all this were illegal I'm sure it would be the 1st priority of the fed and irs. They seem fine with it. I wonder how much money they gained when Trump made his great new tax deal? You should be proud of them for finding the loopholes simpletons like us don't get. Suck it up, Hillary lost.

Honestly, I find it funny. All these left wing people applauding Fauci’s promoting Multibillionaires because they hate Trump. It’s hilarious watching their strings get pulled to support the things they hate.

Newsweek & buzzfeed, both are left wing outlets. It’s schizophrenic, not balanced.

Pay no mind to that idiot poster. She is wacko and a Neo Nazi. Everything the far right does she excuses for obvious reasons.

I don't understand why people give these morons any attention. Folks need to stop wasting their fucking time responding to these cretins and pay them dust.

Also Republicans: "He can't appear before Congress, he knows too much!"
Republicans Now: "Well, that made us look like terrible human beings, we best let him appear."

I knew it was a matter of time before they would turn on him. They are snakes, such vindictive creatures.

Can't make them feel "too incompetent".

Speaking of incompetent fraud, let's talk about the gas bag in the WH.

the real reason is trump's fragile ego: fauci is more liked and trusted by the american people than he is by at least double

trump also needs others to blame for his incompetence as a leader of a first-world country... blame china, blame the who, blame the experts, blame pelosi, blame any democrat governor, blame ANYONE so long as it stops people looking at him. this fauci business is him trying to silence two canaries in his own frikkin' coalmine
