One woman, unable to pay her April 1 rent after losing her income due to the coronavirus crisis, said she texted a prospective landlord inquiring about a more affordable property. He responded with a dick pic.

Another newly unemployed woman said she asked her landlord if she could pay her April rent once she had work again. He replied by telling her she could come over and spoon him instead.

These are just two of the 10 complaints of sexual harassment by landlords filed with the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women since the COVID-19 outbreak began.

“We’ve received more cases at our office in the last two days than we have in the last two years,” Khara Jabola-Carolus, the executive director of the commission, told BuzzFeed News in a phone interview last week.

News flash! Woman sucks dick and wants something in return. Somebody should start a business with a whole bunch of women like that but only accept cash as payment.

I would grant ownership of the buildings to the women and put the now former landlords out on the street.

It would make for a great story in the Reluctance section.

A young couple are renting their first apartment or house. This crisis breaks out and both are laid off from their jobs. Unable to make the rent they make a deal with the landlord. The wife pays him a visit where he fucks her!

And that’s where the entire premise of equality is flawed.

How many men have that option at rent time?

Locally we have had two issues:

1. Some accommodation adverts in social media last year were offering a reduction in rent for 'services'. A very few were genuine e.g. a reduction for cooking, cleaning, shopping and washing for the elderly landlord - almost an Au Pair sort of arrangement; but the majority were for explicit or implied sexual services. The local trading standards unit has prosecuted several landlords.

2. For the last decade, our local university city has had a problem with a shortage of student lets and a very high rental charge for inadequate accommodation. The university was unpopular because the living costs were nearly as high as in Central London.

The university, local council, and property developers have been working together to provide blocks of modern student accommodation. Private landlords have seen occupation levels drop substantially but they haven't yet lowered the rents to a rate that a young family with one wage earner can afford. Four students in a two bedroom house would pay far more rent than a family could manage.

But the effect of Covid-19 has been disastrous. 45% if the city's population are students yet the university is closed. Almost all of the students have gone home, ending their leases (and payments) whenever they could. Massive numbers of for rent accommodation are empty, including the purpose built student blocks.

Some (but not all ) landlords are offering six-month starter deals at a very low rent, increasing to the normal (and unaffordable) rent after that, yet few are accepting. If a family with a reasonable income wants to rent now, landlords will do almost anything to accept them. (Inc sex on tap if available!)

Bradley Hardacre had this situation covered. During a strike by workers at his mill, when most of the workers at the mill lived in houses owned by the mill, the workers couldnt pay their rent.

rather than evict them bradley simply had the glass removed from all the windows in the houses to save the tenants falling deeper into debt via not having to pay a window cleaner.

A little creativity is all that is needed.

Offered vs demanded

This thread needs a comparison of how many times sex for rent is demanded vs sex is offered in place of rent. Only one will ever be reported.
