What's the policy if one creates a custom literotica app?

I'm contemplating creating a public mobile app that would, at least initially, allow reading of literotica content. And I wonder what is the literotica policy about it? Is this something you would officially approve, encourage, discourage or prohibit?

The related question is whether it is in literotica's interest that I use some sort of proxy that would cache the content.

Cheers

Hi!

I was (and still am) interested in contributing in the Android app development.

PM Laurel, she owns the site. I wouldn't do anything without her approval.
Have done that. PM to Laurel and Manu, never got an answer.

@mihulus:
If you should get a response (and so long you are interested), I would gladly support you in the development.

We would rather people didn't develop their own Lit Apps. :D

There are a number of reasons for that policy. One of the top reasons is that authors on Literotica get "paid" for their work in Followers, Reads, Comments, Voting, etc. Only an official app has the ability to provide those features to authors. Any app that provides access to stories without offering the perks that authors expect in exchange for their hard work would obviously not be fair to the people actually writing the stories. Those authors have also not authorized anyone other than Lit to distribute their works in the first place.

There is a BETA version of the next Official Literotica Android App that some users have tested, but even that BETA will need to be replaced before too long as we roll out the new Literotica front end (and eventually phase out the old one).

We know that the lack of a new Android app has been frustrating, but since Google booted adult apps out of their app store, we have been focusing our resources on getting the web app released. Everyone can use the web app, no matter what device they are on. Once the web app is fully released, we do plan to come back to the Android App.

We appreciate everyone who wants to help make a better Lit Android App, and hopefully we can work together in the future to make that happen. Our position on non-official apps is not unique in the online publishing space, even a community run non-profit project like AO3 has found themselves speaking out against unofficial apps since there are a lot of potential issues with author rights, copyright, trademarks, etc.

Hi Manu,

Not the answer I was hoping for, but nevertheless an useful one. I get your point.
Also, a mobile website will do much of the job anyway. So, looking forward to it and thanks for clearing things out.

Which is the last version of the app? Is there any sub forum or thread where I can get that info?

Thanks for building this site. It's awesome and you do a great job!!

Authors on here get paid? Man, my stories must suck.

I know using the reader on safari in apple ecosystem is broken because it only does the first page but won’t do the rest and it used to do whole story in the reader without having to move from page one.
