I log in on the board and it shows me as logged in, do I have to log in again to comment on a story?

No, not usually.

Logging in to the forum does not log you into the story side of the site, but you don't need to be logged in to leave an anonymous comment. If you want to comment on a story where the author doesn't allow anonymous comment, or if you want to leave your user name with the comment, then you need to log in to the story side of the site.

The board and the story part of LE are separate. So yes, you'll have to log in at Literotica to comment on a story.

No, you don't. As NotWise said, on the story side you can read and comment without logging in as long as the author has not disabled anonymous comments. Most allow anon comments.

However if the author has disallowed anon comments then yes, you will have to log in to comment.

Logging in via the story side has an added convenience, your login session will last much longer. (If it were intentional and by design, or the result of a “stay logged in” button, that’d be cool, but it’s sheer coincidence.
