For me only when AI creates an account, log in to lit-erotica and submits a story is only considered as "Written by AI", if any writer uses AI to enhance the writing, isn't it is as using CGIs in the movies.

A human artist plans, draws, models, and directs CGI. They make choices about narrative and characterization.

Putting a prompt into an AI tool and then letting it generate a series of sentences isn't that 🙄

I understand where you're coming from. As an Alpha/Beta tester of DALL•E I had a lot of fun, but ultimately I worried. Even if you do not ask a specific art style or something, it is still trained for it. You can get those results. The AI is trained on the livelihood of people and taking it to it's own platform. It is easily accessible and relatively cheap, making many legitimate artists see their income drop.

That beings said, we can muddy the waters. First, let's say you want to write an erotic story. Few LLM currently support whole stories, nor would the quality be good. Just like real people don't have the full story in mind, you need to chunk it. They are planning, make choices about the narrative and characterisation, then direct the AI in series of prompts to create the story. If you want a vision to come to life it isn't a fure and forget type. It is iteration. Prompting, refining, prompting again.

We can look from further away. They could put pieces in there they already made, having it altered to a prompt. Like any good CGI program an AI simply improves on things. Or at least it tries.

Finally there is the simple grammar check. I can tell you that I make plenty of mistakes I know of, and a boatload more I do not. I can defend myself with that it isn't my mother tongue andI only properly learned it in my teens, but even in my mother tongue I make mistakes. Certain sentence structures, some changing of the words.

These can all be legitimate reasons where AI assists. When is it not your creativity gets more difficult, but the effort is still there. One could argue that using the fire libraries of earlier CGI creators is not making your own stuff. But you can make award winning CGI by mashing it together in the right way, even if all libraries aren't yours. You can say they created something whilst standing on the shoulders of giants.

Even so I wish to reduce AI here. I personally do not use AI, which people reading my stories might have noticed. Every time I read them back I see another mistake, better wording or things I want to clarify.
