Iran fires missiles at multiple U.S. positions in Iraq in retaliation for Soleimani killing

WASHINGTON — Iran launched attacks on U.S. military bases in Iraq on Tuesday evening in apparent retaliation for the killing of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani, which was ordered by President Trump.

According to a statement from the Department of Defense, the attacks began at approximately 5:30 p.m. EST...

Maybe he didn't want to post in the retaliation celebratory thread?

No reports of deaths yet; ayou must be quite disappointed.

q ayou must be enjoying someone else losing their children across the world for no reason. 🇺🇲

So far they've killed no Americans in this attack. Know as well, these missiles fired at Americans tonight were paid for by Barack Obama.

I am hearing rumors of "People" Military and Non Military (Support) are being called to service.

Don't want to get descriptive but they are packing sunscreen...

show me where anyone or myself rooted for or protected the enemy liar 🤡👀

You spend your time spouting their talking points, railing against your President for doing something that should have been done long ago. He killed a terrorist who has killed 603 Americans and wounded many more. His crimes go back decades. Democrats have a history of rooting for the enemy, starting American wars and then politicizing them so they can walk away. You disgust me.

YOU just accused someone else of regurgitating talking points 👀😝do fuck off you lying.shit for brains.

Apparently there were no American casualties, but some Iraqis were either killed or injured. :(

So you meant to say, "show me where anyone or myself rooted for or protected Trump?"

I don't think anyone was suggesting that you were backing Trump's position.

Sounds like you're very confused. Maybe you need to go back to your Twitter feed and find out what you're supposed to be parroting.

Iran's been at war with the US for a longtime. There are a lot of people who want to over look that, and why? (It comes down because they care more about their luxuries than their fellow American or their country. They want a safe haven for their stuff, but they don't want to defend it.)

If this leads to war, then so be it.

But, they only fired two missiles so far that killed no one, so maybe they're hoping this is a pride-saving retaliation that the US can let go.

But they fired missiles at the US (wherever a soldier stands, that is US ground), so we can't excuse that. War is one of those things that the US gets pushed into, and if a nation is going to push us, we need to respond with an uppercut and a knockout blow. So, as much as it sucks to be involved in another war, I hope that we do. At the very least, we need to hit them so hard and so fast that they say, "Oh, uh, sorry," on a public stage.
*sigh*

at least one dozen missiles at 2 bases - fortunately (or deliberately) hitting areas not populated by us troops at the time. don't know if there are casualties of other nationalities.

seems to me that lack of american blood being shed because the areas hit weren't u.s occupied, coupled with the specific wording of the iranians that this action responded to and concluded retaliation for the death of soleimani signals a diplomatic cooling-off message. their show of power sends a message to america (and its allies)... after all, those ballistic weapons are capable of carrying a nuclear warhead... while, at the same time, goes some way towards placating a volatile iranian populace calling for strong reprisals.

on the face of things, i'd say background hard diplomatic talking has been at work to limit the reactionary behaviour of both trump and the ayatollah.

q, the grammar nazi 🤦

If one intends to count coup over non-substantive, obvious typographical errors, it is a good idea to avoid committing substantial errors in reasoning and grammar while doing so.

Even better would be to have an interest in, and knowledge of, the subject matter being discussed so that you can actively participate in the discussion rather than simply looking to score meaningless internet points.
