Yeah, the issue for me is bedtime. I've gotten accustomed to using alcohol as a key to switch off my "give a damn"; in other words giving my brain a break so I can easily go to sleep. It'll just be an adjustment. My problem hasn't so much been drinking heavily; just habitually. A good buzz every night.
My issue isn't the taste; it's the habit of using it as a relaxant and behavioral modifier. I'm a likeable person when I have a few, and admittedly can be a bit coarse when sober.IDK...sometimes I go months, even a year or so w/o having a beer, glass of wine or mixed drink.
How about trying some mock drinks? Club soda with cranberry or other juices? If you've just gotta have a beer then get one of the better non-alcohol ones?
I've done both of the above when I've been out and was the designated driver.
My whole deal at current is strictly related to how drinking derails my fitness. 500 to 1000 junk calories a day, easy but poor sleep, rampant inflammation, and the difficulty of working out in the morning.
I'll sort it out; have done it before. It's just those early days of restructuring one's habits are challenging.
